ferk me, **** storm in a tea cup
not gonna reply individually, cos I cant be arsed.
my opinions are just that. mine. apologies if anyone takes offence, none is intended.
re. work and time for dave, summed up below.
a Friday night laning trip in Holmfirth.
first time I met dave an sarah. about 14 other motors.
didn't pay a lot of attention as it was dark.
do know that maddog spent a chunk of time trying to get the bonnet to shut correctly. (15 mins if you want a figure)
a Saturday laning recce for sue's laning weekend.
me, sue and sarah. bit more time for sociableness. (talking, but I don't do girl talk)
had a browse round dave, mainly cos I could see the unclipped brake pipe running across the rear axle.
became apparent that things weren't all as they seemed.
the following Wednesday night, at the workshop. invited sarah across for an inspection. (insert sexual innuendo here).
sue also present due to being a friend, and I didn't want to be in the shop on a one to one basis with sarah, as I didn't know her, didn't want anything being misconstrued, and I thought sarah would be more at ease with another female there.
was initially going to write all the anomalies down, but it became easier to photo them.
anomaly photo'ing- about an hour, interspersed with talking.
addressing the steering and swivels, which I considered unsafe-
labour, 4 hours ish
parts, 2x second hand radius arm washers,
2x brand new prop nuts and bolts,
1x brand new track rod end.
later in the week-
phone conversation with the dealer. they rang me. 10 mins. ish
a Friday-
16 mile round trip to the dealer, hours meeting for all concerned.
Saturday-
hour at an mot testing station of my choice
Monday-
dropped dave off for the agreed "couple of days work"
Tuesday-
called at dealers at their invite. sarah not present.
Thursday-
called at dealers with trailer. sarah not present. (coincidence I had trailer)
Tuesday-
collected dave with sarah.
Wednesday-
hours retest at testing station.
don't know how much time the dealer has in it during the 9 days it
was there.
parts included all the mot failures addressing,
some non mot anomalies addressing,
a new donut,
2x brand new swivels and associated parts to rebuild,
a full polybush kit which wasn't asked for.
last Monday night-
cb fitting by sue and sarah, guidance from me while I sorted summat else.
an issue with a suspected flat battery that is documented on the "wtf is that dave" thead. 2 hour.
Tuesday-
3 hour on the flat battery saga.
1 hour delivering dave back to sarah.
an electrical fault that became apparent at sarah's place, to be addressed.
my terms and conditions.
I don't end up out of pocket for materials used.
I browse lz, and choose who I offer to help. posters attitudes are a deciding factor.
I will assist friends, or friends of friends where I can.
if I want payment I will tell you beforehand.
a crate of Guinness is compulsory in most cases.
I am a home owner, married with a 5 year old son and as such, sexual favours will not be accepted.
the workshop is in my name, funded by a group of like minded individuals, available for use by invite only. separate terms and condition apply, by discussion on invite.
I posted on this thread, to highlight that ****s rolled in glitter can be bought from dealers as well as private sales.
its unfortunate it happened, but this one's in my area, and i'll do what I can to assist.
only quote worth looking back for, and the latter part particulary applicable in my opinion.
take someone with you, if you don't know what your looking at.

cheers.
bring on the Guinness.
