the missus bought it cos the series was off the road.
now i drive it and she still uses the punto an the series is still off the road....

gone soft now, power steering an pulling power, ace for trailler stuff and comfy.
but the s3 will return......

on my 2nd d1 now and had a d2 in between them for 6 months but got rid due to it being too expensive to repair, but the reason we got a disco is for taking use to our static caravan in cornwall and sometimes towing a trailer there.

also had a few series 2s and 3s in the past aswell, some pics of the 3 discos we had and have and the caravan aswell.

i dont know why, i wish o wish i had'nt ive done nothing but welding on it since bought a month ago, now starting to go through the other problems like heater blows cold, heater blower only works on full setting, need three tyres, central locking, the list goes on, and i can't really find any good points, o yes one really good point will be when i sell it and see it going off down the road, and i wave bye bye for good

Like it. Shame really you must of picked a bad one!!
Oh wait a min they are all bad.

The disco seems to be a poor mans RR for the road and poor mans fender for off-road?? And they are rot boxes, unless you wax oil them religiously from new!
Please correct me if I am wrong!!

wife wanted one for years. i did`nt. thought they were the 4 wheel equivalent of old british bikes.
unreliable and leak oil.
glad i finally gave in as i love it.

Nowt wrong with british bikes...... I know mines not old.

I just love my Disco, does all I want.................. not the clasic landrover shape but hey why spend more....

I bought mine to tow a boat.
I have always limited the size of the boat to what a large family car would pull before now thinking that I couldn't afford a 4x4.
Well, I was wrong, the extra expense is worth it.
The ease of towing the bigger boat is great.
The bigger boat is better too.
I like the Disco.
I have tried a couple of green lanes and liked that.
It's my only wheels so I'm not going to break it doing serious off road, yet.
I'm spending about 40% more a month on fuel but the pleasure I'm getting is worth it.
It has been running for 4 months without problems (since it had a new head gasket) so I'm now expecting it to fall apart round my ears.

I bought a Disco because I could not afford a Defender. Having had it for five years (and practically rebuilt it!) I still love it, but would also still love to get a Defender (still can't afford one!!!)
