Where do you keep your Pedal Locks?

So when you go out you don’t stop you just drive straight home to your garage?! Lol don’t think you need a pedal lock! Have you even got one?

Disclok and gearlever /handbrake lock, so the pedal lock is overkill to have it bouncing around in the back.

Plus I am not a paranoid wuss who is scared of every noise and shadow around the 90.

You asked I told you, believe me or not, no skin off my nose....:p:p

Cheers

I was just asking where people kept them whilst driving wasn’t looking for smart remarks. But a quick search on here suggests you are a bit of a paranoid wuss who just bought one recently so clearly theres something you don’t like about it?

Well, I ordered one on Friday.

Came this afternoon, here are the photos, with it fitted, and then turned as much as can be without trying to damage anything or apply leverage.
Finish could be better , a slightly sharp edge from the manufacturing process and the lock has been damaged on its front edge where it fits through the plate. But certainly not going to cause an issue with use and will only get more damaged as I leave it in the back when driving.
As said by @lightning , the end being open is a potential cause for concern, However as a further deterrent including the handbrake and Disclock, then I think it adds another element. A cheap way to try and prevent a theft. Good news it cones with 5 keys so I do not have to worry about losing one.

EDIT: for the cost Delta, I can cut a piece of steel and weld it in place....LOL.

It will be getting a wee tweak in the near future to the open end, as that is a weak spot. But as I have said it is a another good deterrent. Weight wise, is easier to handle than the Disclok, as it gets taken off and put in place when stood outside the car. It is only going to be used at home or on extended trips as storage inside the vehicle alongside the disclok will be a PITA. Unless I can make a way to clip it into place on the bulkhead bar using spring clips.

Cheers

Having one when the vehicle is sat at home is what I got it for. Having to use multiple locks when out parked up shoppling etc is not what I wanted it for. thus it sits in the garage and gets fitted when I return home. hardly paranoid..LOL.

But having it bounce around inside when I am greenlaning is not what I want. It is a big lump of steel to have in there and where as the disclok can fit comfortably behind the drivers seat and is contained there the pedal lock does not.

Eventually I did not modify it, I left it as it was because I deemed it was OTT to bother. As you can read in the second paragraph you quoted carrying both is not IMHO necessary.

But you carry on...LOL.

Cheers

You asked , I told you, hardly a smart remark , just the truth...LOL.

Just a long way to get an answer! Lol cheers makes perfect sense now :D

I don’t have anything at the moment, can’t use a gearstick lock because of the slick shift thing.

No wonder you are a paranoid wuss...............:p:p.

I have even been known to park mine in Tescos roof off , windows down doors unlocked and NOT use any additional locks....:D.

Damn, I must be crazy as a march hare............:rolleyes:

Cheers

Saw these but don’t they get in the way on the floor?

Nope fold down flat and then theres a little lever you bolt to the seat box that fold down and keeps it in place (not explained that well but just finished work so a bit pooped).

Honestly if you are thinking peddle lock (good idea) get one of these you won't regret it

Mine gets lashed to a rear seat base frame using a short length of chain looped around the frame and connected to the lock. There's plenty of other places to lash it to, including tie down loops in the rear floor and a tubular "bulkhead" behind the front seats.

I'm with payydg. Bought an X defend that is bolted to the floor with security bolts. Very happy with it. I cut the original mat and stuck it to the plate. I don't notice it's there when driving. No key needed to lock. Quick unlock and fold down. Quarter turn catch to keep it in place. Highly recommended.

I put mine on the passenger seat,
Obv wont work if you have anyone in there lol then it goes in the side locker.

A lock that you don't carry with you or use at every opportunity is not a lot of good so consider ease of use along with ease of storage.

Had the X-Eng lock for many years now.
Like anything it can be defeated but as part of a layered approach it is an excellent piece of kit. Also, being a permanent fixture means that you can deploy it in about 2-seconds every time you step out of the vehicle. Disklok goes behind the passenger seat where I can reach it from the drivers seat so another bulky item would mean a faff every time I wanted to use it.

Thanks, seems the X Eng lock is favourable due to its ease of use. I did read about a weakness in them that was found by someone do you know if this has been resolved? I couldn’t see a date on the page - https://4mud.co.uk/x-eng-pedal-lock-free-upgrade-important-information/

Also what’s this you got a nespresso machine in there?!
