I have tyres which are sufficient for UK weather for 99% of the year ( big standard grabbers sadly!). However, when it snows properly where I live (near Elgin) I need to be able to get to work. Cant justify the price of five AT's or MT's until I've worn these tyres out! Plus, I'm hoping to do the Crosiere Blanche sometime, so I'm sure they'll be perfect for that.
I'm chuffed I got a set of brand new top of the range heavy duty ones, instead of buying a rubbish set that'll either wear out really fast, or snap!

Seems like a proper bargain.. always chance your luck and relist them and hope to make a few quid.. done a lot of that recently! currently trying to find cruise control for my td5 for less than the £85 ebay are asking.. not having much luck so far... :)

my best 1 was a pair of 90 props watched um for the last few days nobody bid on um so 24 hrs from the end put a upper £20 bid on um .

An M reg 300TDi 90 that was near perfect apart from needing a new rear X member. Bought it for £1,100. I sold the thing not long after because of a **** of an ex, wish I'd kept it now. :(

weren't that the one you sold because you wanted to (make a big profit) go travelling quite recently on here ?

That were the one I sold because the ex had made plans to go travelling and desperately wanted me to go with him. Then I found out he had exams when he wanted to be away. I wouldn't let him **** up 3 years of hard work and eventually it all came to an end.

If I could have seen 3 months into the future it wouldn't have got sold! The money was sat in the bank until recently and I ****ed off to NZ with my sister for a bit.

Believe me, I'd much rather have the 90!

A wise man once told me "never let affair's of the heart intrude on what's important in life ... family & friends (this includes Landy's:D:D) as they will still be with you long after the latest fling has gone into the night".

My £500 110 that went straight though a MOT with a few bulbs :)

On its 3rd engine now... fecking 19J's! 200TDi power shortly :)

errm... walk into local dealer. order the two bits you need.

Cost me £50 i think maybe slightly less.

You need to make the bracket for the steering wheel controller - dead easy to do as its identical to the one for the stereo controller - took me about 30 minutes with a hax-saw and a drill.

Best bargain i got was a proper ski jacket reduced from £180 to £5. Yes they got the price wrong, but they had to honour it. :)

Just bought a 1985 Defender 110 with galvanised chassis and restored from the ground up with a daihatsu 2.5TD motor.

Paid the grand total of.... wait for it....

£700

It had sat in the blokes barn for years since he inherited it and never got it MOT'd and put on the road. He just wanted the barn space back, so he let me have it cheap on the promise I would get rid of it by the next day.

Had it delivered on a low loader and have it a thorough going over.

Tyres are shot having sat for years, turbo was seized, rubber hoses have perished, the rear lights wern't connected and missing bulbs and the vent/door/roof seals were not installed (though supplied)

Changed the oil and the turbo became unstuck, fitted new hoses, bled the brakes and clutch and connected up the lights. Fired up first time and drives perfect :D

Chuffed it was built in the year I was born as well

My first Defender
