Yes, as I suspected, the gear wheel had lost its grip on the spindle. I've notched it all the way round with a hammer and chisel so hopefully that'll give it a little more purchase. All working OK now. As it's still light I shall go out and wash it in a few minutes when I've drunk my coffee.

Also got the world's best thing. It's a GP LR repair kit, consisting of, in SS :
10 x m6 x 60 coach bolt
10 x m6 x 30 as above
10 x m6 wingnut
10 x m8 washer
So far fixed both NS bumper end caps and wing minger. Total saving at stealership : one meelion spuids.
 
Fitted new uprated intercooler and aluminum radiator and some silicone hoses.

Walked into the garage to find the 90 was leaning over to the N/S/F corner yep you guessed it a flat tyre so bumped it up then removed all the 2a bits we bought last week and stored in the back of the 90 ( in the garage ) as the bench was full of crap from doing the 90's engine swap so bench cleared and recovered with new parts :D
 
Just got under the thing to bleed through new clutch fluid. The stuff that came out of the system was nasty, but no sign of leaks. I popped to the local motor factors for a piece of tubing which they assured me was correct, it wasn't. Anyhow, for the initiated, is there easier access to the bleed nipple as I could hardly get a spanner on the thing - Ed China makes it look easy, tw@.

Anyway, I have a good solid clutch pedal so I'm happy. Just got to fix the NS headlight which dips when main beam is selected this is as a result of some fog light wiring I removed from the engine bay.

Then an MOT.

I was hoping to see seals, but there weren't any so I took a picture of the tractor instead.
 
Took the 110 for her Mot today, passed with advisories for 1 panhard rod bush and rear brake hose.
Picked up 2 new bushes (might as well once it's off and on the bench) as well as new nuts and bolts for both ends.
Got 3 new brake hoses because I can't see the front 2 lasting much longer as all 3 were replaced at the same time 12yrs ago and the system will need bleeding fully regardless.
£15.25p for 3 hoses, 2 bushes, 2 BIG bolts and 2 matched nuts.:D:D
 
well ive just about finished sanding my d1 down , ive removed the bumper and spots, also finished taking the sticky xs sticky stickers of the bottom of the doors. did I mention they were very sticky
 
Crazy value and congratulations on the MOT.
She's never failed since the rebuild 12yrs ago but I replaced everything nearly!
I've only replaced the bits above, most of the poly bushes, all 4 discs and pads, new tyres and rebuilt the callipers again in those 12yrs.
Oh and the 2 short brake pipes callipers to flexi , they were fine but I couldn't get them off without damaging them when removing the callipers for the 2nd rebuild. Used stainless pistons this time though so expect more than 10yrs service life this time :rolleyes:
 
I removed the inlet manifold, intercooler cleaned all of the sludge out with petrol and changed the manifold gasket. Changed my horn and fitted a steering guard. The old girl is purring like a kitten and I think I have fixed the worst oil leaks.... Bonus!
