What have you done to your Landie today.

Series front end isn't lost. Engine moves forwards but not enough to affect the looks or mounting of the slam panel

Radiator needs to be moved to allow for my R380 to get a decent sized rear prop. 280mm space ATM and by the time I'm done I will get 390mm when fully shut which isn't too far off standard compared to where it would be otherwise

Ok, I bought the car 2 years ago, a mate bought his landy from the same place, he had a problem with his car with patching on the chassis using roofing felt, his was 5 months ago now, today I have discovered the same on mine after fitting new brakes and swapping over the radius arm bushes. Can I still get compensation from the guy in any from or is it too late?? See photos for shiny brakes and shoddy patch work

After 2 years, you have virtually no hope whatsoever of claiming anything at all back from the guy you bought it from. I hate to sound harsh, but let this be a lesson to you about checking a vehicle thoroughly.

You want compensation for what ?

Not checking the chassis properly yourself and you're two years down the line ?

Cant be that bad a patch if it lasted 2 years. However some milk i bought from tescos two years ago smells a bit iffy to me. Can i get compensation?

duck taped rear sunroof, replaced air filter, fixed front passenger door light switch, (wire had snapped off), removed and cleaned all other door light switches, greased all door hinges, think I've found out why tacho don't work.............noticed wire snapped off alternator. will play with that tomorrow.

replaced the lt230 rear output seal and flange.. what's with the new metal dust thing?

redone the handbrake while i was at it

stripped the rear prop.. what a bugger.. cleaned it up. went to fit the ujs and relaised i had bought the wrong ones

went to stick the drum back on the handbrake and bugger me if i could get it to go on.. gave up now.. will try again tomorrow

compensation to repair the chassis, i had the car thorougly checked out by a landrover mechanic with 30 years experience, and he ha MOT'd it for the past 2 years, even he did not find the patch, it just looked like a well wax oiled chassis. so to those saying i didnt check the car properly i did, after buying a crock the first time i had learnt my mistakes, having it checked out by a professional is as good a check as you'll get. cheers for the help though, will give the guy a phone call tomorrow.

who's to say the garage bodged it up,how are you going to prove it after two years of ownership.

i can prove it due to the fact that he purchased the car from suffolk and my mates car from Aberdeen, he then did 'some' work to both of the cars one a year later than the other, both came from different ends of the country, went through the same middle man and then came out with the same shoddy style of work!

Impossible. Shoddy work that cant be found by an "experienced" lr guy. Failed a mot yet?

after it was checked by the proffesional it has always been MOT'd at my local garage as is only 1 minute away, it failed its first mot on warped discs on the rear and worn shock bushes and that was it no chassis mension what so ever
