Painted my roof black.... Much better than the creamy yellow

Had mine checked for the laning trip.
While it was on the ramps another customer took pity on me and fitted the diff guards
Also got a steering guard on. Forgot to order one but was really lucky and they had just taken one off another Defender. New power steering belt to stop the nasty squealing noise
Had a new bush on the bit that hold the back axle on, so the nasty clunk when setting off has gone. And a new bracket on the exhaust pipe.
Also got a few spares of bits that are most likely to break.
So together with my new toolbox, tools and spares we are ready to go

That was me and a poorly placed hammer blow onto a cold chisel :doh:
Holding it properly so it didn't break or smash but still fecking hurts! The TCP hurts more than the actual cut though!

Kinda hard with hitting blind
It was down the side of something so all I could see was the top of the chisel and the hammer, got it out in the end anyway so alls good
Been using the same chisel for about a 6 months now and this is the first time I've smacked my hand with the hammer :doh: reckon its getting revenge on me for taking a small chunk out its handle
Ouch not pleasant I bet you shouted spanners when you did it

yesterday saw me fit new brakes to the wifes disco along with trying her new wheels and tires on, they rubbed like hell so the look out is on for a lift kit for her
today we went to a local car/classic show down chasewater in cannock.
I returned wanting a new car along with the will to live and my disco fixed, so dropped the engine ive been building back in now its finished
i must say what a pain in the ass, i didnt spot that said engine still had its location dowels in the bellhousing and that my gearbox also had its locating dowels in place, cue 3 hours of swearing and anger as to why my gerbox wouldnt line up. pulled it all out thinking the defender 300tdi and the discovery 300tdi must have different location lengths in the crank, to then realise my mistake. fortunatly whilst it was out i also sealed the gearbox up as advised by the haynes manual (about as useful as this book has been the last week or so)

Finished installing +4" stainless brake lines, and bleeding the system as well as changing fluid .. jeez, dark brown! No wonder I had skiddies after towing! When i get chance I'm going to renew the copper lines and fittings .. some of them are original and the rear brake line took some work getting it off whilst retaining the bracket in some semblance of usefulness.
Fitted +2" springs, swapped 'em from front to back, got 'em wrong way round .. swapped 'em left to right 'cos drivers side was 2" lower than passenger .. eventually they fitted and the Disco stands level, drives straight and true and brakes straight too!!
Removed a few bits, like the wheel well plastic bits at the front ... what a feckin' pain they are when working on stuff. Also the metal rear mudflap holder things, mine were bent to ****e anyway, rusty as rusty things and didn't have mudflaps to hold. Well, I removed the nearside, left the offside on 'cos it protects the diesel fuel filler pipe a little .. just hammered further back so it stopped rubbing!
Got an email saying me noo tyres will arrive Thursday! Probably have them fitted for the Bakewell run, hopefully ..
Finished the Bakewell route off, and put it onto two laptops and a netbook .. I'm fed up of having me GPS break down halfway through a day, so trying to make it more reliable.
