Today I are bin mostly collecting a SOB (****e Old Bike).

Busted diff sounds a tad loud at 60+ ... but wtf, it's broke and I have a replacement so a trip of 30 odd miles won't hurt it any more ... ;)

There's no need to use a spring compressor. It makes it more difficult if you ask me.
Support the car under the chassis on axle stands and have yer jack under the axle. Lower the axle as far as you can, without straining the brake flexi.Remove the bottom spring seat from the axle and fit it to the bottom of the spring before offering the spring up. Locate the spring in the top bracket and ease the bottom onto the axle with a tyre lever or big screwdriver.
**** - piece of.

wnot matter about the flexi, its plus 4" longer

din't think that worked for +2" lift spacers, so that why i tried the spring compresors, but that dint work on one side, so i'll try your way for the front an if it don't work

i can blame you:rolleyes: :D

Replaced the front door hinges on the 110.
Britpart hinges......
They fit, but the countersinking in the holes isn't quite deep enough for the door bolts. They are about 4 threads short. The pillar hole countersinking is ok.
The doors now open and shut lovely with no drop :D

Got a new diff output flange kit, swapped out the old one and put the new 'modified' one in. Mudshields are different, but the new 'modified' one does look better ....

Then came the hard part, getting my diff off the Disco. Easy enough for all nuts bar one ... the barsteward rounded off. Bloody cheap 12 face socket, my own fault. So got the 9/16 prop nut socket with 6 faces and tried that and it worked like a dream.

Not swapped them yet, haven't time, so left the old one in the Disco with all my nuts loose, ready to drop it. ;)

Watch this space tomorrow ... ;)
