Oh aye, think it's definitely the stalk for the indicators, the headlamp flasher is also a bit sloppy ... Dunno about the brake lights yet. For now it's stood waiting, it just seemed funny how one day all's well, the next something else goes west .. ;)

As I said Paul, you're an experienced person, why should it come as a surprise? It's a Land Rover!
 
Passenger side door,floor,tunnel all fully fitted.
Nice shiney self tappers.
Just have the door latch for the drivers to complete.
Soon be the dreaded electrics

Started to change the front lights.
Next is the electrics
At least it's loooking normal

I had another look underneath today and wobbled everything about with the wheels off the ground. Sure enough, I have a loose propshaft joint, which is very likely the cause of the vibration. That's come on quickly. They were nice and tight a couple of weeks ago.

I also noticed the front swivels gleaming in the low afternoon sun. The tiny bit of pitting on the chrome surface I noticed when I refurbished the axles nearly 4 years ago has now grown a good deal. No major leaks yet, so not urgent, but I'll do them this winter. I might as well change the wheel bearings and top and bottom swivel bearings as well as the seals while I'm at it. Something like 70,000 miles have been done since my last efforts in this department, so they won't be in the first flush of youth.
 
Bad day on the electrics.
Now moons ago I lost high beam but not the flash. So changed the switch today still no joy.
Figured out the fog light & high beam are linked via relays & this is what's causing the problem.

There are 2 linked relays on some early 110. When high beam is on power to The fog lights relay is off. When you put fog lights on the high beam power is cut. This stops you from having fog & high beam on the same time.

I thought it was a broke switch until I tried the fog light & did not work & no power to it.

Twist saw. Had this a few years unsure the price. Various speed settings & plenty of different tips you can use. Use this for making the square holes smoother after galvanising. Also use flap wheels for earth points.

Dragged the wife out on pedal duties.
Brakes bled
Clutch slave removed as would not bleed. Push the inner & all went well.
Wiper motor & arms all done
Heater works

Filled with antifreeze & it runs....
Need to get a earthed dash bulb for the led indicators as flash as hazards.

Replaced the radiator as the old one sprung a leak. Hate aftermarket parts...new one was 1cm too high and 1cm too wide. Needed holed drilling for shroud and none of the side fixing holes matched the original. I avoided Britpart and chose Allmakes instead, hoping for a better quality product. Took 3 X longer to do the job than it should have done due to having to 'make it fit properly'.
At least it holds water...for the time being anyway.

I took the air box off and found that the fixing plate has been badly welded. As it is a 200tdi in a 19j 90 I can remove and refurbish (fix rubbish weld) quite easily :)
