Nothing. I'm spent too much time changing the gearbox oil in the wife's Audi A5 convertible, which was in a horrible state, especially as Audi say it's filled for life. There isn't even a drain plug, so I needed to suck it out. Stupid design IMHO.

Had a vehicle dropped off that had been reversed into a post at a fair speed.
Converted the before to the after - took a couple of days and a good scrapyard find !
Had a mild smile when I found the reversing camera on the rear door handle was still intact - shame no one looked at it!

ALSO - get this - owner said what a bad design it was as if the dogs had been in the back they would have been showered in glass!

So the fact that the owner couldn't drive, was down to the manufacturer. They did have a driving licence I presume, maybe they need an eye test.

Well OK, just drove it. To Pleasnant Point South Canterbury NZ. Took a stroll to see the local steam preservation railway. Loco is now wood fired as coal is no £800+ per tonne! Railcar is a model T powered unit.

Bought another one! Well two actually.
A nice HSE TD4 manual with some rot but loads of goodies. Not sure if it's a repair or parts car yet. Survey pending.

Also, a 2006 TD4 auto, with report that it is blowing oil out of the exhaust. It has had a new turbo and still does it apparently. So worth getting for the new turbo !! However, photos show oil coming through front radiator grille !! Will trailer back via a hot pressure wash and have a good look.
Possibly pcv filter, turbo oil pipes, oil cooler.

Any ideas about an engine defect that would cause this ??

Crankcase vent filter is the first thing to check. Also if the turbo had failed, and pumped oil into the exhaust, it will take some time to burn out.

Sweet, fixed a write off by replacing the boot door. Imagine the damage to any other car after this accident.
I suspect the dog would have been similarly showered no matter the car.
Did you remove the hex bolts or torx bolts when swapping?

Took hinges off car, 13mm hex IIRC. Had to use a saw blade to cut the catch end staple as it was pulled tight and the lock catch damaged. Pleased with the repair. Yes, as you say, a write off and another one to the scrappers. Have just rescued 2 more, see above. Well, maybe rescued, we'll see !!

I swapped boot doors the same way recently but was wondering if it would have been easier to realign it by removing the torx bolts instead. Maybe next time. ;)

Bought NoS just because I had not seen them before
never really been interested in fitting them but with the weather being outstanding I thought I would have a go
and I can honestly say they do help 😮

Finally had a few minutes to remove the rattling splash shield from the OS front. It's clearly been rubbing on the rotor, although I don't remember hearing it rubbing, just rattling.

I'm not sure if I'll bother replacing it, as the bolts look likely to break the moment I try to release them.
