Yeah, I did the heat gun treatment a while ago to get the blade to sit squarely on the glass and it worked a treat, until recently. Maybe that hot spell a few weeks ago has caused this more recent issue. I shall have the arm off and the heat gun out again, along with the rust converter and a bit of black paint now too!Rear wiper arm bends under the pressure of the spring and rubs the door.
I always remove the arm, heat gently with hot air gun and 'tweak back straight again'.
What parts did they replace for that amount of beer tokens?Well 255 beerchits lighter from yesterday as my nearside brake calliper and brakes fail miserably, when travelling on the M60/M66 stinking the place to high heaven.
I had a interview for a job on wednesday in bury/radcliffe was, so for the speed of the motorway journey and hitting the twitching brake for the bury turn off must have have gave it the last post and roasted the pads there and back. Result ringing around for garages available to take the task being conscience of my skills being zilch and prefer a professional ego now very light in financial purse nay looking to ply my gorgeous body in Manchester.
Hello Andy. the labour was 55+vat ph pads caliper. Couldn't tell which variety of each whether cheap and cheerful or middle of the road. but suspect oem. Only to happy they did do it, mainly as most garages at the time were shut or full near to where I live especially walking distance. What parts did they replace for that amount of beer tokens?
Did they change both calipers for that? I just changed both calipers on mine with a new guide pin kit & EBC pads & all the parts were £102.35. I'm glad it's sorted & that's the main thing as brakes etc have to be done properly.Hello Andy. the labour was 55+vat ph pads caliper. The driver side was okay just the passenger side replacement. So much of the cost I guess was labour. Consider I booked my car for 1230 and pickup at just after 530 that day. So getting the parts and fitted.Did they change both calipers for that? I just changed both calipers on mine with a new guide pin kit & EBC pads & all the parts were £102.35. Yeah ya can't complain with that service. When I got mine just over 4 yrs ago it had a binding nearside caliper & I paid £80 for an exchange/refurbed one from a local motor factors then when I was getting other stuff off the net a couple of months later I found I could get a new pair for less that but it was back on the road the same day so hey ho price isn't everything. The driver side was okay just the passenger side replacement. I would not touch engine drivetrain or brakes personal because my skill level is poor. Anything else inside or simple to do then I will have a go at.Yeah ya can't complain with that service. Most of my garage mechanics have gone so it was pure luck they were willing to do the work. As I said my funds are now lighter. Hopefully will hear of the job I applied for soon

Ah, my daughter has her rotary PPL & is doing her commercial licence. She works at a local aerodrome at the moment as ground crew for the rotary stuff. My mate worked at Farnborough & Cottesmore on Harriers (BAE) making the wiring looms for the avionics. He & his boss were the last to leave Cottesmore & he said it was so sad seeing all the GR9's mothballed & ready for the yanks to get 'em on the cheap.Aye ex RAF 1981 to 1990 supplier helicopter refueller by trade SAC
Kudos to your daughter. I sometimes go on the egoat forum for disfunctional ex and serving fellow RAFites. They say much about new and old but you're limited due to security restrictions.Ah, my daughter has her rotary PPL & is doing her commercial licence. Another little unknown fact about harriers they was known as the great bird in Belize jungle. When I did a tour there in 1984 in the jungle at Salamanca camp . Local Mayan people which travel between Guatemala and Belize feared the harriers as the would hover over the jungle treetops. As a refueller it was part of our job to refill from mobile tank and pump. Not had the chance though. But. Was regularly rotors turning gazelles and pumas lynx scouts or wasps.Ah, my daughter has her rotary PPL & is doing her commercial licence. I know you shouldn't have regrets but looking back I would loved have to joined the military. My son did 10yrs in the Army, left in 2018, enjoyed most of it & travelled a fair bit.Another little unknown fact about harriers they was known as the great bird in Belize jungle. It an experienced you can fondly remember that keeps you going. Talking about aircraft flying in Scotland the natives also called them birds with loud noise. Weird that. Strange time doing a tour in Scotland with locals still tending the cattle and sheep. Only to be interupted by low flying jets on training jauntI know you shouldn't have regrets but looking back I would loved have to joined the military.
