My 110 TD5 fuel pump started making very nasty noises at the weekend. Did some research, and thought that the cause was going to be difficult to trace, highly technical, and expensive.

Today, I removed the fuel tank, and then dis-assembled the pump. The pump was blocked with some gunge that resembled a blend of pond algae and sea weed! See photo. Cleaned it all out, changed the filter, and she's fixed!

Gave the towing bracket etc a clear, rub down and a coat of smooth hammerite. Bolted on the new steps. I'm pleased with the result. :)

How do you stop the toe-rags knicking the whole detachable tow bar assembly? Padlock through the end of the pin?

New wiper blades , new headlamp bulbs (one blew last night) checked all me fluids, all ok and checked the tyre pressures. All ready for that there winter.

played arround with fusebox resulting with more problems then i started with, corvered the rubber gearbox tunnel mats with some nice new carpet, ordered a new gaiter, fitted a fatter wire to mi work lights to get more out of them. then sat confused and annoyed the electronics are not how haynes say they are! (in mine anyway).

Just had the reversing switch on the gearbox fixed.
35 Euro's for a piddling switch!

Painted the interior back cargo area dark green! No more dust getting on kit I throw in the back now :)
