Ain’t that the truth ! Busy repairing all the leaks around the front screen and scuttle to reduce the water level so I can drive her without snorkel and flippers and leave the aqualung at home,
Have already sorted out the floors and sills, still to look at the back but will have to wait until my enthusiasm has replenish it self, But I’m determined the bugger isn’t going to beat me :(
 
That's very nice for 20 quid.
I'm sure after many years of rain and car washes, water will get all up in there.
just wait until your cargo door handle seizes up from years of moisture and corrosion. :eek:
 
Bottom door "stay" has gone all stiff, and will need to come off for lubrication and a clean up.... one of many many jobs Ive inherited since my purchase.
Land Rover, a gift that keeps on giving...
 
My next niggly job is to replace the odometer bulb. Should arrive in post tomorrow... My Land Rover OCD has made me replace all of the other bulbs that dont work..
 
Broke the terminal off the rear heated glass ffs..... Can it be soldered back on or is it a total glass replacement...

Edit, bought a product of thE Bay which is some sort of conductive epoxy, designed to stick the terminal back on...

Fitted the Bundutop roof tent. As the tent would cover an entire roof rack there was no benefit in fitting one, so instead I used 4 Flatdog FD Rax roof bars and 8 Flatdog Roof Bar Tent brackets. With it fixed at 8 points with 16 M8 bolts onto 4 roof bars I am very comfortable that it is properly held down.
I slept in it last night in torrential rain and it was warm, comfortable and bone dry. As it is electric it even has internal,lighting and USB charging points. Love it and cannot wait to use it properly.

Odometer bulb replaced... and two new 150% H7 brighter lamps being fitted in the dipped beam. Should help around the country lanes here at night...
 
I bet that alters the mpg a smidge...
Supposedly not by much. I've not yet driven it enough to tell. The additional weight is only 65Kg, so the issue is mainly aerodynamic drag. There is an increase in frontal cross-sectional area, but a reduction in the turbulence (and noise) from the roof bars. I suspect that there will not be much difference between running with the bars and no tent and bars with tent. If so then I lost about 1 mpg when I fitted the bars, so touch wood that might be the only change.
 
Stripped out the seized heater motor to replace it, bit of a bugger as it’s a 200tdi, but on the upside gives me good clearance to weld the corroded scuttle bracket without setting the car on fire,
Also tidy up my added wiring that could have been routed better the first time,
Removed front screen to repair edges and roof,
 
After fitting new headlight bulbs, I think the sidelights look too yellow... so bought some LED ones from Halfrauds...
 
Fitted new led sidelight bulbs and new led number plate light units.... ordered some new led interior leds of the Bay...
 
Finished getting replacement engine ready to go in. I had it on a stand and after changing the oil pump sprocket bolt, injector washers and seals and spigot bush, a few days ago I fitted a bosch fpr and seals and a new QH water pump. I only changed the water pump and fpr because accessibility was so good on the stand. Today I took it off the stand and fitted the flywheel and clutch. So easy while on the hoist at waist height. Hopefully if the weather is good later this week I will try fitting it to car. I couldn't find the sealey flywheel tool I had but used a pair of lifting brackets and they did the job well.
