Finally got round to servicing my van yesterday.

New engine oil
Transfer box oil
Genuine LR gearbox oil
Axle oil replaced
Air, oil and fuel filter
New rear wiper blade

Also added wind deflectors so now I'm officially cool

And had a proper look at my recent marmite purchase.

Verdict is they are cool and I shall fit them eventually with some 50w hid bulbs for maximum full beam attack

And as I finally note attempted to run a MFU diagnostic. No joy, no beeps from the system so looks like I'll be on the hunt for a replacement MFU and hoping that fixes it.

Look on the bright side, it all came apart easy enough, and it does not look that bad...........

The nearside hub was a right git to dismantled and rebuild, I can't remember the last time my arms and shoulders ached this bad. Hot bath, pain killers and a bottle of medicinal sambuca are slightly helping though

Dang it you go for the exotic tastes.

I normally use it as an excuse to go for teh beer, red wine or the whiskey.

Tonight is a white wine night, because I did thunk it would go with DOT 4 from bleeding the clutch.......

This is my usual aperitif of choice

But I can only get it in asda or tesco and I couldn't be bothered to drive there.

Be interesting to see what it looks like with the light pod on, if I keep this and sell my defender I'll go with a 52" lightbar as my commute is nearly all country lanes.

One good thing the Automotive industry has given us is .............................JIT.....Just in Time.......

There is no excuse to be out of your favourite drink whilst contemplating an evening of LZ and what you have to do to fix your own....

It's just I was passing by a sainsburys and they don't sell it, ouzo was another option but that gives me a raging headache next day and I have a habit of having trouble walking

Unfortunately owning various land rovers and having two teenagers I usually work six on two off but I've got a weeks holiday. Hangover here we come

well i have yet to have kids so all moneys go towards my LR something the mrs is becoming more and more aware off i just say everything is alot cheaper than it usuallyis. i am in need of a night worthy of a hangover!!!

I hate this car...

Today I changed the fuel filter, and broke the water sensor, because LR seem to think that something in contact with both grotty road water and really very warm diesel should be made of plastic, finger tight my arse. Just glad it's dim enough to not care about the sensor being in the bin.

Don't even get me started on changing the air filter, breaking the radiator and f%%ing the top hose.

I wouldn't mind, but I only got the filters because they were cheap and I needed a wheel bearing. I'm scared that when I do that job the engine will fall out, the way my luck has been.

I changed mine recently but it didn't have a water sensor or any wiring for it. Should I be worried that it is missing?

Good morning

After reading the great LZ threads on wheel bearings/stubs/swivels etc I set about determining the exact problem with my front OSR wheel which last week developed a `ch/thunk` when braking. Before dismantling I ordered some Timkins` and seals too, including one for the stub axle as there appeared to be what looked like axle oil seeping out of the end spline.

There is nothing to add to what has already been said before here, other than reminding people to check their Landy wheel nuts for preload at regular intervals, and that the locking tabwasher and nut are actually done up and knocked down correctly, the adjuster side too, as it was this that turned out to be the problem, and both nuts were loose. I`ve had the D1V8 for two years now when the front bearings had `just been done`. Although the bearings were quality Timkin, the stub seal was an inferior type. The issue tho` was that after the bearings were `done` (and not locked down properly) it really was my responsibility to have checked the work shortly afterwards, not leaving it two years or more. The hub nuts do require checking and adjusting on Landy`s, certainly D1s, and quite regularly - so JUST SAYIN`...

Had planned on getting an led light bar as is the way for everyone these days.
But it come up cheap local to me to decided to have a punt on it.
Just need to make sure the hid's I pick are good enough to be able to fire up quickly.

Changed the sump for one that doesn't leak, swapped the oil and filter, welded up two holes, re mot'd it, taxed it and insured it

Oh and put 50 quids worth of diesel in it and it's still not full

So much quieter than my tratter....
