Just did this mod on mine and I got a really long hiss like undoing a bottle of coke! Thanks for the tip! Will get the new beather ordered asap

glad u got it sorted out

saves ur front diff oil seals from leaking due to excessive pressure building up if the breather isn't working

when i cut my old breather off i did put a 6mm pushfit coupling and extended mine right up to the brake master cylinder

so it's well out of the way

the other breathers , sit at the back of the engine near the bulkhead

also there is a filter that comes from ur air compressor

that sits in the back passenger side boot cubby hole , i took mine out and hovered the filters then put them back

£21 delivered from your preferred choice

don't know why some dealers charge more

maybe it's the overheads

rip off merchants

always look online first to see what the average cost is

is the same item, both genuine

From what I can tell, yes but need to give it a good run to be sure.
Just ran round the estate and so far all good.

sounds a good result

in the spring i'm going to take all the brakes apart, then put some new discs and pads on all round

clean all the cailpers off

then get some dinotrol to spray all the chassis , as it's all sound so it can protect it from all the road salt etc when it goes down

think i'm going to get the wheels off and just give the brakes a once over

just as a pre check

always prefer to check things before they become an issue

hope i don't have to go anywhere near the rear handbrake shoes that are tucked behind the discs

hear they are supposed to be pigs to get off

Stop doing handbrake turns and you will be fine good sir!

I remeber on my Vito the brake shoes for the hand brake were inside the rear discs. They were a bit of fun to get off and back on!

lol, thks,

hopefully the handbrake shoes will be ok ,

going to replace all four discs and pads

remember always doing the old handbrake shoes on the series , where it was on the prop , but as mentioned different set up

seems a lot of issues is where a lot of dust etc builds up around the shoes and can cause brake bind

all my wheels are all cool after a drive so know there not binding , will also happily go along on tickover,

think also it may be a good idea to buy the brake indicator wear sensor leads, don't know if they break when u remove them and also some pad shims in case they don't come with the pads

always like to have everything beforehand , inc some new disc retaining bolts

done a few calliper rebuilds , but see these are double pot ones

suprising how much knowledge u pick up over the years with jobs , also having the huge amount of help here in the forums

always like doing jobs like this, gives u the peace of mind after it's done and also been done properly

Greased the front and rear props, gave it a decent wash, then did a 400+ mile run yesterday and got it filthy again!

Got a rocker cover leaking onto the exhaust manifold on the driver's side, will have to look at that soon.

Peter

I put new Xenon bulbs in to try them and cleaned out the MAP sensor which was remarkably clean

i did replace mine with the osram nightbreakers and also leds for the sidelights

but want to get another set of osrams for the main beam , as i fitted mine to the dipped lights as i thought that is what i use the most

my map sensor was blocked solid , must be the egr blank on urs that keeps all the crap off them building up

not looking forward doing my egr blank, got to take out the butterfly valves

did u see much improvement on ur headlights

Dont no till its dark!:D
I bought really cheap ones, just to try and keep as spares, they were only £8 the pair delivered from China.
The can cost up to £120 each for certain outlets:eek::eek: yes £120 but they do tend to last 5 or times longer than halogen

ouch, glad i've got the normal halogen bulbs now

seen some good installs of leds fitted behind the front grills

just being used as a flood style of light

might do that later , handy for off road
