Blanking plate is visible, bizarrely because there's a passenger air bag there has to be one on the steering wheel even if neither of them work:rolleyes:

At least that proves that there’s a good chance that the emissions won’t be a fail, as long as the blanking is well hidden then we’ll get away with that part then!
As for the airbag, that sounds kinda mad but I’m guessing you have enough spare wheels with all those you’ve scrapped?

Unfortunately all the ones I've scrapped haven't got airbags on  I've got an egr valve on the one I'm stripping though

Nice, I like the look of a d2 with those

Today I've cursed mine for 10mins on the works car park cuz the bugger wouldn't start. It happened a couple of weeks ago, wouldn't crank but could hear the solenoid clicking so aha thinks I - sticky starter. Been fine since then today same again no crank but sure I couldn't hear the relay so maybe just that? I forgot to listen out for it to be Fair, chap next to me in a disco sport was putting me off laughing

When It happens next time , double check what the red led on the dash is doing.

Cheers

Looks nice on the outside, headlights will get you a £100 plus...LOL. Chassis looks like it has had better days.
I thought the original pics made it look like the rear suspension was down, did you get it working OK?
Get the airbags off and start poking see what happens ? also check inside the shock mounting plate.
What are the inside of the front wings like?

Still looks like you are on a winner there.

Cheers

I'll have a look tomorrow if I get the chance, left home at three'ish this afternoon and I've just got home

It went straight up, he worked at a land rover garage but had nowhere to work on his own at home. I didn't think the chassis looked to bad, I've certainly seen and repaired worse

In short - nothing! Just a click as I turn the key and another, different single click instead of cranking. So the relays working isn't it?
I'll dig the multimeter out and test from the battery to the starter but I can see a rebuild kit being ordered! Are they any good or just get a new unit if it turns out to be the Starter?

Yep as said the starter kits are good, £10 job done.

\if the starter solenoid is clicking but not spinning the starter then solenoid is where I would look, if it is not clicking then I would check the spade connector on the small 12V signal wire to the solenoid.

X8R have a good kit and have a vid on youtube of how to fit it.
Top nut on the starter can be a PITA, use an extension bar and the shortest iirc 15mm socket you have , but undo the bottom ones FIRST. then as you undo the top one you pull the starter out of the housing. Othewise you can get the socket caught between the undoing nut and the starter body as you try and undo it.

Cheers
