BROUGHT IT!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

Well, I did so on Monday anyway but been busy working, and no, in my day job not on fixing the disco. Yet.... managed to find a TD5 D2 ES Premium Auto for £3k with a good chassis so I’m happy with that.

Nanocom being delivered on Tuesday and rear door ladder arrived today. I’ve also just got back from a trip to Crediton and a visit to Southdown 4x4 to pick up a snorkel kit. Have to say that Dave is a great bloke and very helpful. He happily talked me through the fitting and gave some useful pointers. I can highly recommend him. And that’s just the beginning of my plans....

The difference between the fail sheet and the previous years pass is..interesting
:eek:me thinks it's the difference between a mate at the garage and a honest tester

This is after it failed:p

Is that description a lie then or just evading the truth?;)
My tester turns a blind eye to my suspected decat and egr that may or may not be there but he wouldn't pass a rotbox for me, dangerous people man

What do you do generally, break them for parts and sell what you don't need?

It'll be interesting to see it in the flesh
Basically I needed some parts for my own and it was cheaper to buy a whole vehicle and the bloke rang me last week to say his son wanted rid of his (or rather his mom did :p) which is the one with the missing wing. Again I looked for a mot failure to source the missing bits in case there's a chance of putting the sons one back on the road and I'll break the rest. If there's too much to do on the sons I'll be breaking both  I'll be finding out on Monday

Just as I promised in another thread, polished out the cloudiness on the plastic headlight lenses, then took it for a "wash and Polish". So far I've managed to avoid a certain wedding. How long that will continue, who knows.

that’s the beauty of polishing a large motor , can take days and days with no TV in sight ;)

After Moto-GP qualifying I also tidied the garage up. Found loads of my old 200tdi defender parts, some new too.
Will be listing them shortly on an auction site; swivel ball, uj's, steering knuckle to name but a few.

Dinitroled front half of car, steamed it off last night, steamer on max, it was tropical and ****ty as old waxoyl flying everwhere,

After my daughter said this seat belt feels weird I spent the whole day welding yes, that's right Disco 1 seat belt mount had rusted so much that it just became unattached and banged around in its little void!
Remove the nearside jump seat and all the trim to find lots of rust!!!
Welding nuts to back of patches with spreader plates and hoping they all line up when done!! And how the hell do you paint the outside of the inner quarter panel?? Don't want one now but from what I can tell you can buy every panel possible for a Disco 1 - except that one!! What's that all about??? Oh well - done now - no gleefully mocking allowed!!!

Taking mine for a play in the fine muddy puddles of North Wales to avoid hearing about a certain wedding:p Hope you've got your box of kleenex at the ready @Hippo
it's nice to know even though yer travelled that far to get away yer was still thinking of me. Or was that when yer got stuck and needed a tow
