just got engine fitted and wondering what exhaust to fit to 200tdi engine, on a swb series chassis, i have looked through the parts list at paddocks and can't seem to see anything with a wide enough bore, last one i did i used a v8 system wich worked ok, but that was a lwb, do they sell a v8 system for a swb?

If you look on Glencoynes web page he shows it using the old 2.25 diesel manifold, a quick fix whilst you sort out a big bore system but it should run well enough.

thanks, i did look at glencoynes page its very interesting, and i used a lot of that info when i did my first conversion, i wanted to fit the exaust system with the body off its easier and its done then, ill get on to paddocks tomorrow to see if they do a v8 system for swb, i can mix and match the maifold to centre piece, Steve parker do one but as stated by Blackburn sooo expensive,

if you can weld run round your local tyre fitters and backstreet garages ask to see what they've got in the bins and scrounge oddments to make your own, i've built 2 for the 200tdi so far and one for a prima conversion

none of them cost me anything but time

I when first purchased had the exhaust up through the bonnet (hated it), did lots of looking around and ended up having one made to fit (think they used 300tdi exhaust) and it doesn't have silencer. Cost me over £200 quid. With iron sight I would have paid extra £100 ish for a stainless steel one. There a place in Leeds and Doncaster do them. Hope this helps

I bought a Steve Parker stainless system for my SIII with Def 200tdi. Beautifully made and worth the extra, since it was to last a long time.

However. It didn't fit. Parkers tried to help out but after toing and froing with photographs and theories, I gave up and cut a foot out under the crossmember. That was replaced with 18" of PolyLock.

Metal Hoses and Assemblies

And clamped with these.

Which are incredible. You could crush steel rods with them!

PolyLock is stainless, but even if it doesn't last as long as the system, it's pretty cheap.

yes have done the scrounging bits of exhaust at ats tyre fitters in fact went there yesterday and they got nought, so bit the bullet and ordered a full system from paddocks, for a defender 110 2.5 turbo, i am hoping this should be near as damn it to the series, but i dont mind cutting and welding, was cheap enough about fifty quid.
thanks owl that place is good to know for future

I'm hoping that the full disco exhaust will be all I need to fab something up. But I'm very interested in your idea of the 110 system

yes it works!, i got the rear pipe with silencer the centre section and the front pipe, for a 90 defender 2.5 t/diesel and it fits a teat, only used the 90% bend of the front pipe witch is welded onto the origanal disco downpipe, wish i could share it with photos but am useless with computors

yes got the from paddocks front pipe ntc4426, £14.44, intermediate pipe ntc4221 £10.50, rear pipe and silencer ntc1802 £23.36, any order over £50.00 not inc vat is free
