I popped all the festoon ones out without paying too much heed and they were all 39mm. It wasn't until I came to fit the new rears that I noticed they were a tad long but still fitted and made good electrical contact. Someone before me must have replaced them sized incorrectly.
I only discovered that there was a difference in size when trying to fit a 39mm at the rear where a 36mm was required. The heat sink on my 39mm lamps was shorting out every time that I tried to fit the oversize bulb. Interestingly the circuit went out but it wasn't as I thought the fuse blowing that killed the interior lights. It must have been the BECM throwing a wobbly.

Think the interior lights are driven direct by BECM so any short will burn out the track on the BECM board.

I bought some of these that provide a much nicer light. Instead of the three LED dots there are a dozen smaller ones that give a more even light. You need a 39mm for the front & 36mm for each side at the rear.

I bought some of these of eBay mid December to use on the number plate. One has already burnt out, the other is very dim so not long to go. That's crap life

Isn't it all the same stuff just different prices? They look identical. Bet they come from the same sweat shop

Depends on the seller.

I suspect some is seconds or stuff that failed quality control. Other stuff they stay on late at work, knock another ten out and then sell on from home. Of course, they may not have the help of be adept at all steps in the process.

From friends that have worked in China you have to know the right factory to approach and know someone on the inside who knows where the high quality stuff is. So, local knowledge.

Now the P38 is being resigned from being a daily and is becoming a weekend/camping trip car I’ve taken it to a local detailer and they’ve done an absolute miracle on the car.

I would have posted a photo here but the forum won’t let me link to Imgur or imgbb.. nor can I add in text or as an attachment so just imagine a really clean black P38
