What did you do with your Range Rover today

3hrs doesn't sound bad. RAC said 4hrs plus on Tuesday. With all windows open in -3° freezing fog. If it wasn't for the fact I was next to Pets at Home, the ambulance would have been called before they arrived.
Yes, I remember reading that and with your doggo too.
I think I was more cheesed off as I had a text from autoaid giving me a slot at roughly 1 hrs from the text, then another 1 hrs after that then another 1 hrs after that. Think it was 3hrs and 20 mins total. Freezing day for me too but I was right by a mates house and I had a key from his keysafe so I was inside. No heating on but could make toast and a cuppa. Spotted some bacon in his fridge too but thought that was a bit cheeky if I scoffed that.

I usually get a good price with AA. The gold membership, plus associate discount, plus asking 'can you do better please',usually meant a close to new member price. But this year they were not from budging from over £300. And that was supposedly including my associate discount. Thieving 🤬
So off I toddled to RAC . Hidden somewhere in small print is 'they won't come out to the same problem more than once'.For example , battery fails due to leaving lights on, out they come, battery fails due to -4° , days, weeks, month later, they won't. Flat tyre due to a nail out they come, same tyre has same issue days, weeks, months later, they're not coming. Same for any problem. Or as they tried on Tuesday, and I quote"well can you not fix it?", "the mechanic won't have tools that can help", " can you just put lubricant in yourself", and " we'll give you a phone number of a locksmith we use", " oh it's a key problem. We don't attend those". The last one I had to explain it's wasn't the key that is the issue 🤦‍♀️
I will not use them again.

Whilst I'm ranting it is also ridiculous that new members are given a price that is around 1/3rd of the loyal member's price. Then loyal members have to ask "can I please have a better price".😡
My AA membership was a perk included where I worked. Once I left first couple of years AA kept price decent then bang up went price and they wouldn't budge. Hence move to RAC. Have used them a few times and never had any agro like what you've had both with my Disco and P38. Longest I've had to wait was when head gasket blew on MI with P38 and then that was about an hour. A few of our more local RAC mechanics are Land Rover owners so may be I'v had a bit of preferential treatment as they know the grief of owning LR's can give:D

figured i'd send the new battery back for a refund as per the website
they dont offer a returns service, do it yourself and include a returns sheet
tried APC as a good start as they delivered it.. nope sorry we dont do batteries
seems no courier will accept a battery

Exactly why I ditched the RAC. I was with the RAC for decades but never used them and then they stuck the premium through the roof. Joined the AA and when I needed them I had to wait 12 hours on a dangerous A road when the clutch let go on the P38A. Then the AA put the price through the roof. Haven't had to use Auto Aid yet but they were cheap and had good reviews. Been with them a few years now and don't recall premium going up much.

Maybe i should give it a go. It's a doorstop right now
As was mine. It was fine when the car was used daily but with lockdown and now I'm WFH a few days a week I upgraded to the MF31-1000. It only powers my tracker and some aux sockets in the boot for USB, fridge etc and some looooong jump leads just in case.

I just checked and my Bosch A5S15 is also an020 as above had to reconfigure the mega fuse on the positive.

I might try them next year. When at home in Narnia , we only have one recovery agent, who responds for all, companies. So makes no difference who I am with. The AA went up around 100% this year, thieving gits, which why I went to RAC. RAC are a substandard rescue company. I nearly rejoined AA yesterday due to RAC handling of breakdown.
I'm with Britannia as I get a discount rate through work and they have always been good, excepting one operative about 15 years ago. Who I reported to them.

I fitted an 020 to my L322 - required a reconfiguration of the +ve terminal though.

I looked and thought yes. But then i thought.. who am i kidding.. that's way above my pay grade :(

I didn't try, but measured carefully.. i wasn't sure it would fit even if it wasn't plumbed in

The mf31 is out of stock so not even an option
They seem out of stock nearly everywhere currently?

No idea of this supplier but have them in stock and offer 10% Xmas discount

You can check the size of my battery against yours on the net.
The mega fuse is easy to change from slotting down the side to over the top.

At last, the end is in sight for the "bargain" 10 reg Vogue I got from a dealer in High Wycombe. This was the one sold without a radio and because of that a lot of the "features" didn't work. the letter to Trading Standards seems to have worked, most of my money has been refunded and he's coming to collect the car tomorrow. On the advice of TS I knocked off 35p/mile for the few weeks I drove the car, but what hassle!

The 60 reg Vogue, another "bargain basement" too good to be true, the oil cooler leaks and needs to be changed. The bit of paper the dealer got me to sign was in effect saying the car was sold as fit for "spares and repair" only, thereby he claims negates any warranty. I've been quoted about £800 to get the cooler changed and the system flushed out. If that's all it takes then I reckon it's a sensible price for a car with 138000 miles on the clock. It's all there, it works, and is very tidy. Sale price was just under £6k. It's going to a locl garage next week to get sorted. The brakes are worn but should last another year or so and the suspension bushes are worn, all things I would expect to replace on a car of that mileage. It's a nice car to drive, and the 4.4TDV8 goes a lot better than the 3.6TDV in my 08 Vogue. Otherwise I haven't done anything to it today!! Apart from coming back from work in the early hours.
