Hell Grrrrrr. Feel for you, if I was closer I'd come and get you..08:00 and still no sign. I am going to miss work. At least the sun is warming things up.

,9.5 hours .!!! Bloody hell, I could still have made it from Cornwall and got you home...9.5 hours to get recovery that's disgraceful I hope they are going to make amends some how, who was this shower of sh1t, you could drive down from Manchester do the recovery and be back in that time
Not today but yesterday I replaced wait for it ......a couple of leak off pipes, unusual I know.

In my sleep mate, sorry to hear of your problem. You must really love doing those.
MrGorsky damn nearly came up from Chichester. Wish he had now but never mind. @brianp38dse : the AA! The 4th Emergency Service: we like to turn a mishap into a drama.
I wish I was up to be able to help. I could have towed you home if you had a bar/rope. I would really lay it on thick with the AA about how you missed work etc. Tell them you are leaving if they do not make a considerable gesture for the utterly unacceptable service you received. Middle of the night is not a busy time so they should have been able to deal with you well inside their advertised response times.
Seems wrong to "like" a post like that but you know what I mean.I always have a tow-rope in the boot. Don't leave home without it!
I did consider sending you a text but it was late and I didn't want to bother you. Plus, I thought the knights in yellow were going to put in an appearance at any minute. Every time I rang it was "they'll be there in the next 60 minutes". Hanging on, and on, and on, until I got angry.
V8? It's easy on the dieselSo my denso solenoid kit arrived so time to pull the starter and replace the burnt out contacts.
What a balls acke it is to pulling the starter but got it out in the end.
15 mins to swop out the old contacts in the solenoid gave the plunger a clean and put it back together.
Its just as big a ball acke putting the starter back in but got there in the end.

Have to admit with a doosel, I can almost climb in and sit on the chassis rail to work.V8? It's easy on the diesel
I "liked" this, however, hopefully they just went off for no reason and not because anyone got squished..Just an aside. The recovery driver I was speaking to yesterday said he'd had to pick up 6 Ejokes in the past week. All of them with deployed airbags. Seems the slightest jolt can set them off.

Rave says remove the air box followed by the exhaust manifold to gain access to the starter on the l322 and I can see why.......but its doable from the drivers side wheel arch after removing a heat shield.
Doable just tight
Easier with the engine on a stand
