Replaced anti-roll bar links. Nothing wrong with the old ones other than rust but I've replaced just about everything else!
It could be my old bus has her own problems, it has been a long time since I drove another derv P38 other than my own, so I'm probably used to a fault.

Picked it up after leaving it at the in laws for the last 2 weeks while iv been on me hols, started 1st turn raised up to normal height and off I went.........

Mine is going back to the dealer tomorrow - re-gassed air con twice in last seven days and barely lasted 24 hours. Garage assures me their machine checks for leaks and won't refill if it detects one. Not the weather for failed air-con and too noisy for windows down.

P38 or L322?? Either way it may well be the condenser leaking, the garages often don't locate the leak, I think the test is too short.

+1. Mine was leaking slowly and they never detected either time on either car.

It's the L322 Datatek. Alan, I took it back this afternoon - they've promised to deal with it. Also, I don't think they liked me being around in front of other (potential) customers and have promised to deal with it. I'll keep ye posted.

What no detection by the machine? I thought they wouldn't work if here was a leak, which is why I think my problem is probably the condenser as TomCat59Alan suggested. Hopefully I'll get news before the end of the week.

Some machines use a vacuum test, some use a pressure test without the refrigerant, either way the test duration is rarely more than a few minutes which is not long enough to give a discernible change on the gauge for a leak that takes a week to lose the refrigerant.

No need, regular TLC is all that is needed. Even the abandoned P38 I acquired is through the MOT, no advisories with just one irritating fault to get to the bottom of when I have time that does not stop it being used.
