Completed front end, everything clean painted ,new flexis,new caliper seals bleed nipples ,ball joints 1 side (dont ask) new dunlop air springs,all stainless bolts and screws ,new hub bolts carrier bolts and oil seals. just need to bleed the fronts in the morning and turn the bugger round for the rear end. get rid of those nasty springy things

Autotek off the bay....I actually dont like it and the top coat really does show up the imperfections so will get some filler and redo and repaint

Interior back together.
For those of you that gasp ‘the ignition barrel lights up?!’ Here it is

Is same bulb as the ashtray so i swapped them around.

Drilled few holes in the bottom chamber of the lift pump to help get fuel through to the FIP and reinstalled. No way duct tape will hold down the hatch I cut but the seat will.
Battery is 100% and back on. Starts fine hardly any smoke on startup. Test drive before long.
Deciding wether to Kev12 my headlining or strip starter motor tomorrow

You do realise that the plastic chamber under the lift pump acts as a reservoir so when the level in the tank is low and the fuel moves about there is always some for the pump to pick up. Drilling holes in the bottom rather defeats the object.

Took her for a decent run. Threw some Forte in the diesel, when topping up, as she's been greedy on diesel lately.
Really wanting a cheap and cheerful Series or Defender, so started a thread over on the Series page https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/a-worthwhile-runaround.358935/

No. Maybe now.

Thought perhaps it will allow fuel into the chamber at a lower level maybe help on hills.
We will see

Likely I will try a cheapy pump before long.

Finished all my wheels yesturday decided I didn't like the colour or the finish so started from scratch again today x5 hours this time to rub down, wet sand dry and repaint with etch primer..........that's one wheel done 4 to go.

Wow really does feel like a defender with wiring and comfortable seats.

It’s already back in but no pics yet. I’m very pleased with it so much brighter and cleaner than before

Look at next door they have enough dandelions to claim subsidies!

It doesn’t take long Kermit, afternoon set aside. Is two person job ideally but a bit acrobatics can get it back in on your own carefully. Need to scrub all the handles etc now they look very grubby.
