We had better buy shares in Battery Megastore Kieth.Removed the charger and went to start my P38 this morning, it would barely turn over Battery has been getting week for a couple of months, I was hoping with warmer weather it would last through the summer. No such luck.
Just ordered a Hancook MF31-1000 from Batterie Megastore.fr a bit dearer than the UK price at current exchange rates.
I think the alternator may be under performing which could be what has killed the battery.
Aye, a good idea. Managed to get the price down to €109.67, the equivalent of £97.92 including delivery, €22 less than I paid in 2011 so I cannot complain. Exchange rate was better back then though.We had better buy shares in Battery Megastore Kieth.
I payed £114.99 for a 120Ah superbatt 31-1000cca type 663/664 last year, best thing I ever bought for it so you have done wellAye, a good idea. Now and again the first turnover of the day it struggles like the battery is dead, ignition off try again fires first time Any ideas what this could be? I'm hoping it's just the starter beggining to die
Try The Bay item number 271072108072 14.7 set point.If your alternator setpoint is 13.8V then it'll never charge a calcium battery properly and over time it will fail. You can upgrade the setpoint to 14.5V by changing the gubbins in the top.
Failing that check the RF receiver. If blue or yellow dot then talk to Marty.
Judging from your photo's that is a real understatement, I would be well pleased with that.Had a go at repairing a tear in the passenger seat
So I have wrong type battery for standard 13.8v alternator set point?If your alternator setpoint is 13.8V then it'll never charge a calcium battery properly and over time it will fail. You can upgrade the setpoint to 14.5V by changing the gubbins in the top.

Checkout the item I posted, not a big job to change.So I have wrong type battery for standard 13.8v alternator set point?
Looks like I payed over the odds but I'm still happy, many were £160!
@martyuk ?
Rf receiver is blue dot but completely disconnected. This was killing the battery when I bought the vehicle. I just don't use the fob, which is easy as there are no buttons left on it Sure the battery has plenty of go in it, will try earths and check wiring on starter. Thanks guys
