True enough. The biggest improvement I've made is slap on a good battery which not only holds charge is the correct rating for my engine.
Sure they aren't shoe string budget vehicles, but look after them and they'll treat you right.
Beyond replacing wear and tear items mine hasn't asked for anything more than you'd expect from a high miles motor. I have nothing that needs fixing, but things I want to fix, such as a cracked bumper from pheasant strike, scratches on drivers side from a supermarket trolley assault. New parcel shelf because I slightly broke mine a few weeks back. Nothing mechanical but still things I want to have in ship shape all the same.
