But ATM changes with elevation and temp/weather. Do you look at your Barometric gauge

It's also very important to accurately measure ATM & ambient temperature to be able to calculate the amount of air (and therefore Oxygen) drawn into an engine - which in turn determines the amount of fuel injected.
