After being left off charge overnight, the old battery read 13.1v, drop tested about 11v and recovered to 12.8v in under half a minute
Without evidence to the contrary I'd say it was 'good'

Just checked it again and the volts have gone up to 13.1v despite not getting additional charge

RAC renewal came through yesterday. HOW MUCH I screamed , gone up about 30%. Been with them over 16 years and always been happy . Got a quote like for like from AA and a lot cheaper. Just phoned RAC to cancel and give the being a pensioner sob story. Immediately they dropped the renewal to cheaper than AA's and many apologies given. Got a big grin on my face once again

New quote went to £43 per month. Thats me a wife, break down, recovery, onward travel, home start and other little tid bits. New price £19.50 a month for same.

Found to do same with my car insurances each year. Just act a bit dum and upset and very often a discount appears. Wasn't expecting that kind of reduction though, but I'm very happy with itThat's a massive difference!!!

Sorry . Shouldn't laugh but I know your pain. I go through it several times a year, as I don't use her enough. Although today is different. I am away from home and forgot her cover. So currently hoping I can get the doors open in time for dog's physio.

Just got back from the shrewsbury autoglass 'depot' for the 3rd attempt at a new windscreen. If anyone is curious?
1st attempt, new windscreen had the wrong mirror mount, mobile fitter tried to swop it over but broke the new screen.
2nd attempt, mobile fitters again, correct screen this time but very badly fitted, leaked and new top trim fell off. Had to call in at shrewsbury for a temporary sealant job to stop the leak. Another new screen ordered as they said it may break if they remove it to fit it properly.
Appointment a week later at shrewsbury, as don't trust the mobile guys anymore, cancelled as new screen had arrived but no top trim. Top trim came a week later and today was the day.
3rd attempt couldn't have gone better, he was embarrassed for the workmanship the mobile guys had done and promised a good job. They even stuck back the dash to inner windscreen rubber trim which the mobile guys knocked off and left.
Pleased so far, just hope it doesn't leak..
On the way there, going down the motorway, cruise set at 70, touched the brake to knock it off approaching a roundabout and lost throttle, eml on. Rolled around 100 yards frantically looking for a safe place to pull over, no hard shoulder, and throttle came back ,eml off.
Never done that before but I have read posts of similar.

Been out with the 'new' used battery fitted, it's not cooked itself or caught on fire.
Still can't get diag working but least I'm mobile for work tomorrow

I didn't like the 13.1 volts after being left overnight, I assumed that your meter was not accurate. Summat not right there.
I also doubt your drop test proved much as it was probably too brief.

I've 2 meters, both read the same. Both tests were 20 seconds or there abouts.
The battery is currently reading 12.94v

Twenty seconds only, that's why I don't like drop tests, not long enough and often do not draw enough current IMO.

Managed to open doors with some de-icer ......yaay. Well all except driver's door 
No biggie , just leaned over and opened from inside. Great. Now we're motoring. Get dog to hospital. One hour later , the driver's door still wont open from outside. Just use the passenger side. Nope some f-wit has parked so close Twiggy couldn't get up the passenger side.
It is then try to move seat back, into recline position. Without the obligatory of trapping my arm
Yaaayyyy finally did that, door open dog in, me in , off we go.
Oh and dont forget I'm using the key in lock, not remote, as remote lost synch years ago and refuses to resynch
So as we are at the bright lights of civilisation I head to a shopping estate. All good so far. Then I put key in lock, the doors unlock, I do the double movement to unlock all doors..............
I'm not playing says the Golden Girl. Instead I am going to open all my windows (it's -3°) AND I am going to steal your key. Ummmm no I don't think so , I replied. Yeah guess who won that argument. The windows are opened wide and key was duly stolen. I can move it to horizontal and millimetres off vertical. So there we were in the freezing fog with all windows open. Thankfully there was a PetsatHome just where I had parked. They kindly allowed us to come in and sit out of the cold.
I phoned the RAC who are as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Their suggestion was to give me a locksmith number. My response " why would I call a locksmith when I have already paid you to rescue and or recover me". Reminding her just how difficult recovery will be for them, as I live in Narnia". To which the response became "we have a vehicle on the way". The text artives. Having been told disabled driver and assistance dog in vehicle, with all windows open in -3° freezing fog, the response time was to be 4hrs
If I didnt have the sense to ask Pets at Home if we could sit in there, my poor dog would have been shivering (whilst wearing my jacket and jumper), and I would have been hypothermic.

So I phone Gibsons in a panic. Colin suggests trying to get some 3 in 1 down her. Which I duly do. Still no joy. I went back out about 40mins later try again. Rinse and repeat twice more. By which time over 2hrs has passed. I decide to go out and try once more. Mainly because I want to get the dog into proper warmth. We were near the door to keep an eye on the car and her feet were so cold even with borrowed blankets.
So yet again I try to get some 3 in 1 in. I turn the key and bring her back slowly , pushing ever so gently so not snap it. Not on your life says the Golden Girl. At which point I reminded her, I have just spent thousands on you, AND you are the one who will end up at Gibsons. You will be laughed at by Volvo drivers as you head along the road on a recovery vehicle. Your computer will be over-ridden and the windows made to close. Then the boys will put in a salvaged part, and your ignition and keys will no longer belong to you. Oh and you will not come home until the middle of January.
Not sure which bit worked but the next gentle push got her to vertical. Out came the key
