What did you do with your Range Rover today

Finally found a place that'll replace my FIP (Steve Dart Classic Land Rovers for anyone in the south west), but found out Diesel Jones haven't carried the FIP since 2016, so dunno who you all dealt with, but they wanted nothing to do with me. But did get wished good luck on my hunts.
Luckily I found CN4x4 who do have freshly refurbished FIPs, so once I get that in my hands, off she goes to Steve and my fuel dramas are over. Then I can work on all the rest of them.

It's a while ago since I did mine. Odd though as you send your old one back to them to be refurbished again. Hmmm.

Didn't know Charles did refurbed pumps. I know he had them off scrappers.

There was a member on here a few years ago that had a pump refurbed by a guy in Norfolk. Think he may have done his inectors too. Might have had a username like tnseal or something like that.

Apparently, sticking flexible solar panels to the bonnet is now a thing, with folks making 'kits'!!!

Sounds insane to me. Solar panels don't like heat, so let's stick it on the hottest part of the car with no air flow underneath 🙄
Have you touched a solar panel that is in the sun and operating? They get bloody hot, but as you say the bonnet is a stupid place to put them, why not the roof?

He had 2 options available, several wee taken off scrapers, but for a few hundred extra a fresh refurbed item, not gonna lie. It isn't the cleanest job, but I can only assume his ad wasn't a massive lie and cleaning the FIP wasn't as important as refurb.

Like it looks nothing like the clean item in the photo, but I doubt someone would lie on the internet, I'm sure its fine. Find out soon when Steve can fit me in.

Depends on your car. Wife tried to warm her hands on Otto's bonnet after a 60 mile mostly motorway and A road run the other winter while I sorted the pay and display, his bonnet was stone cold to touch. Plenty of warmth wafting through the grille though.

You generally have more luck pushing at the other end :) that's why they invented the heated screen :p

Repaired the non functioning window switch and discovered I have a left recirculation motor fault logged in the HEVAC. That's not going to get fixed anytime soon as it looks like it's a bugger to get at.
You can get to them, I did mine in situ. Just remove the glove box, or panel under the steering wheel and you can get to the screws holding them on, and guide/squeeze them out through all the wiring and stuff. There's a bit of car yoga involved, but it's pretty easy.

not the left one, they are well covered, easier access if the car doesn't have AC

On the way to the pub last night, my P38 did the old "jump to wade height" (just once), but caught it in time & pressed down on the height switch :). It has certainly done it less since I sorted the left rear height sensor looseness. Definitely cannot be tracking between the white connector height switch wires because the connectors no longer exist !! Maybe I need to check the other sensors.

seen a few people try to 'fix' their L322 battery 'issues' by putting a second battery in the boot
while i've been nosing through the ccf, i've seen reference to whether a second battery is installed or not.. given the option is there in the ccf, i'm assuming this needs to be updated if you decide to fit a second battery - no clue what changes it makes though and its never mentioned by the company that sells the kit (luxury landrovers)
