A really useful engineMinus 6C here today, micro tractor refused to start, bloody Varta batteries don't work in the cold even when fully charged, so hitched my trailer to a trusty P38 and off to a neighbours farm for a bale of straw. The bales these days are enormous, bigger then the trailer bed and they weigh a tonView attachment 307576. No sweat for a P38 though.

But I managed to get my pal to drive it while i was trying to fault find,
The first time iv heard it from the outside wow
Update today. Took distribution motor out and it's working perfectly. Distro flap is really stiff so dash will need to come out at some point. For now I have left the motor dangling, and manually put the flap in best compromise for screen heat & a small bit in the car. At least that way there's no cold air on feet !!Changed my 22k NTC for a 33k one. HEVAC takes slightly longer to start the fans, but also discovered the LPG evaporator seems to be stealing a lot of heat from the heater. LPG not commissioned yet, so might consider bypassing that until the warmer weather.
Also discovered distribution flap issue. At least that servo is accessible through the instrument panel hole. Will get in there tomorrow & see if it's stuck flaps or failed motor or gears. Feedback is permanently at 80% so not short or open circuit. At least I have a couple of spares in the garage.

Yes I know that one. Tried it on my other P38, but the flaps have rubber edges and it was the shaft that was sticking. Next job is to get the Green P38 MOT done & back on the road.
