Fitted new 55cm wiper blades to the P38 and found all the coolant in the Transit had leaked out via the water pump
True but there's also a reasonably expected lifespan. You'd expect a car to last longer than a biro. Dunlop airbags are expected to last 7 - 8 years so 5 is taking the ****.
Reasonable expectations are subjective I totally agree with you, but one can say one, the manufacturer other. As well, there is a reason why people tend to say that in older times things were built better...True but there's also a reasonably expected lifespan. You'd expect a car to last longer than a biro. As well, with items that have rubber it seems that if they have been hardly used (i.e. standing for long times), it is as bad as having very heavy use, they do not last as long as with normal wear. That may be 7-8 years of standard driving but my girl have an easy life compared to most busses
Yesterday was fun
Rear door was frozen shut, i gave up on that one. Drivers door was fine because I'd recently treated with silicone spray oil. Got in, door wouldn't shut!! Lock frozen open!!
That took 10 mins to sort out.
Halfway to work and already late, the rear door decided to unfreeze and popped open as i turned at traffic lights oopsie
Had that with the Fusion, but only to the catch, not fully open.Yesterday was fun

Wipe pre icer round the upper seal before shutting doors helps a lot.
Well that's fixed for now. Airline blow down the nrv and it's working for now.. new one orderedThe one way valve in the rear wash wipe is now a no way valve. It must be frost damage.
Less than 6 months use FFS
Seems you can get a rebuild kit.. probably something i need to do sooner than later!I think the motor is starting to leak rust around the seal and it's damp.
Stupidist idea ever!!
Suppose there's no way to fix it other than buying a new motor? Or can seals be replaced?
Currently the motor is fine so worth fixing before it leaks inside
Goog luck finding a good used one. BMW E46 one fits but you have to swap the cradle and move the magnet on the plastic gear.I think the motor is starting to leak rust around the seal and it's damp.

Even a broken one would at least plug the hole so it doesn't rain in and it's driveable?Goog luck finding a good used one. BMW E46 one fits but you have to swap the cradle and move the magnet on the plastic gear.
Or you could move the washer jet

Most likely sunroof drains blocked. Personally I’d try rod them out with a small wire rather than compressed air, maybe you are braver than me.Troops, the headliner at both A pillars is **** wet through. Sunroof drains blocked or condensation?
