Managed to score 3 ropey hurricanes foc a couple of months back and, getting cheesed off with constantly pumping up my newish tyres every few days, I'm going to get my existing hurricanes blasted and powder coated at the same place @MGRmanic had his done.
Stuck the 3 ropey ones plus my spare on so I can still move her around if necessary. Changed the cheapy front abs sensors , even though they are both OK for now for a pair of wabcos off a breaker whilst the wheels were off. I 'think' they are rears as both only had two rubber locating grommety things on them and should have four. Had it on good authority that otherwise they work the same. Cut the old grommety things off the old and glued them to the wabcos.
Tomorrow, I'll find a place that'll remove the tyres then off to the powder coaters probably Wednesday. £30 a wheel and an extra tenner per wheel for same day turn around otherwise 10 day wait so I'll go for the same day. Saves one 80 mile round trip and one clean zone payment of £8.
Crappy foc wheels except for rear os, thats my good spare which doesnt lose air, and my 4 originals .

Blimey, that was fun. Left my cool box (4amps) plugged in for about 5 mins while i was getting changed. Went to start the car and got Blackpool illuminations. I think the battery is toast even though it sits at 12.6v overnight. Sorted itself out after a drive.
Also found out the cruise control is rubbish!! Can't maintain speed on a hill, and if you increase the set speed by 10mph whole on said hill, it just wheezes. Not complaining as it saves on the fuel bill, but it's still rubbish!!

Buttercup has decided she wants a rest and has killed her starter motor. We are off for a week or so in our camping car so going to have to wait for a bit. Anyway, having a good look at the job it seems to me the best route is to take the turbo off to get access to the fixings, and also clear a path to get it out. 2.4 VM motor if anyone has any comments.

Did about 60 mile triangular trip, heavily laden to the new place, then a nice steady waft to the garden centre for lunch and pick up the new garden furniture set. Good waft home, ready to squeeze a few more bits in to do a second run to the new place.
Had a couple of hours for food and rest, failed to set off for the new place. Non starter. Cranks freely, catches momentarily on first crank in 5 minutes but doesn't stay running. Then won't even catch. Nanocom not reporting any faults. Battery above 12.6v even after repeated cranking attempts. No petrol smell.
Not had time to check anything else as had to get over and get keys and deposit to the decorator ready for him starting tomorrow.
Ideas on checks to do tomorrow welcome, assuming he doesn't just burst willingly into life tomorrow....

We leave our cool box in the back all the time, the rear plugin switches off after a while, never had any issues, so guess your battery is telling you something .

We find our CC to be pretty good on the whole, just don't push "resume" when you are along way off target cos it seems to want to get there as fast as it can:oops:.

Yes, I'll need to get a new battery. Think I'll go for the 019 as that seems to be the only one that fits without buggering about.. is the 'slightly' bigger battery size worth it?
I pressed resume to get back to 60 when i was doing 30, it was a somewhat sedate process!! Didn't change downa gear, just slowly increased speed. Must be something off there, no clue what though

Is it better to go bigger, Hummm ;). What's the cost difference? and do you own a car that is known to be heavy on battery demand:oops:.
The hassle I had was not really a big deal TBH.

Maybe the cruise needs a software update.. don't fancy doing it myself with SDD as I'll probably just break it :D

Fingers crossed not, will start tomorrow by checking for fuel flow through with ignition on, and if none / reduced then check fuse and wiring.

After dropping the budgeted fork leg off the Honda to the shop to sort. I've run out of tools and time for it at the moment.

Good luck with it, nothing worse than extra stress when moving house.

Thanks. Broken RR and ineffective bike is not helpful at this juncture.

Taken a look at RAVE, I think my simplest plan is to drag out a couple of spare spark plugs, put them on 2 easily reached leads and crank to see if spark is good.
Then repeat after swapping over the ignition and fuel pump relays. If I have sparks on both, then both relays are good and ignition works. That will also show if the CKP sensor is working or not.
After that I am into fuel pressure issues (would be typical having not long since filled up and having a full tank), or IACV failure as RAVE says no-start can be an effect of failure. But we only replaced that with a brand new unit about 18 months ago during the top end rebuild as the old one was both coked up and unevenly worn.

was it the 020 you fitted?

its a shame the 1000CCA mf32 doesnt fit

MF31-1000 fits the L322 does it not?
That Yuasa says "lead acid" you need a lead calcium battery.
I understand it doesn't fit without a lot of butchering.. i wasn't in the mood for that kind of thing when I first thought about it.. maybe i should reconsider.. i need to take the existing battery out and see the space for myself
