Difficult to suck from the top as it keeps moving downGoing to do an oil change on the tdv8 today, but, using the sucky tube, if i can actually get the cap off... Do you suck from the top, or interest a pipe down until it hits the bottom of the sump?
It's ok, done the deedDifficult to suck from the top as it keeps moving down
Just checked the ignition current draw..
Ignition on, 35A
Ignition off, 16A
After a minute.. 9A
Then drops to 1A.. measured with bonnet open, button in service position
It went down to 0.6A some time later when i checked again, which is still a lot. Need to lock it up and leave it for half an hour then see what it says1A draw when car "asleep" sounds a lot to me. That's going to drain a battery within a few days.
I thought it was done through the dipstick tube, I prefer to drain it personally.Going to do an oil change on the tdv8 today, but, using the sucky tube, if i can actually get the cap off... Do you suck from the top, or interest a pipe down until it hits the bottom of the sump?

I gave it a run, oil was ~55c when it came out so should be good+1 after a run to loosen any sludge.
Dropped my oil and gave it some slick 50 with nice shell helix 10w40 oil. Sounds way smoother on the shell
What engine have you got kerms!?I gave it a run, oil was ~55c when it came out so should be good
No dipstick? bugger that, you know where you are with a dipstick, sensors can fail and give false reading. No dipstick.
Tried pushing down the tube, only went in a few inches so just pushed seal over the top, worked fine. I'd rather use the dump plug to but seems a major faff

Computer says the level is 'ok'. It's showing half way.. no clue how much is needed to take it to 'full'Only if you know what your looking at, and some of these new "grown ups" I am not so sure of their abilities.
So us oldies that would wipe it on the grass/fingertips/crease of knee or something similar are getting few and far between sadly.

Seems it's 2 litres min to max, if i add 1/2L that should take it to nearly fullComputer says the level is 'ok'. It's showing half way.. no clue how much is needed to take it to 'full'
