Massive squealing from the belts last night, sounded more than just belt slip as didn't seem load dependant :(
Need to figure out how to get the plastics off the top of the fan to gain access

Blimey that's hard work! Big fat intercooler? hose needs to come off at least, but there also seems to be a thin coolant? hose in the way, means i can't get my socket on to release the tension and get the belt off. I refuse to drain the coolant to check a belt

Christmas Day + Boxing Day: 260+ miles to visit daughter for Christmas in Broadstairs.
Decided to fill with Shell 95 octane E10 as apparently this is fine for my '97 4.0SE, although I have only ever used Shell V+ in the past.
Ran beautifully both ways, 20 mpg even with the usual 4-mile crawling delays at M25 Dartford and M11 Stansted.
Parked outside in a torrential shower, but no internal leakage at all.
Only disaster: the passenger heated seat seems ineffective - lady wife not impressed.
