What did you do with your Range Rover today

Didn't think there was a cam sensor, i would expect the motronic gets the rpm from the crank sensor, not actually looked in RAVE though
• Engine speed: This measurement shows the engine speed in rotations per minute. The speed is measured using the crankshaft sensor and sensor wheel.
• Target engine speed: This measurement shows the engine speed which the idle speed control system will use as its target speed. The idle air control system will increase or decrease the air flow into the engine to achieve this value. The speed is calculated using several factors including coolant temperature and the time from engine start.

Looking good for a year standing in the garden.
Got some marks and needs good clean underneath but is good for something half it’s age. New discs have cleaned up like new and they don’t half stop! Is exactly like you said years ago to me - cheapy callipers will catch your weights with 16s if you have 2 layers on MTs but runs okay with few I took off and I’m looking at new tyres this year anyhow

Welcome back :)

Spent about an hour after work today dealing with trashed and bodged wheelarch liner fittings. Got the driver's side one off now, better access to all the rusted heatshield bolts. And the barely moving despite bolt removal and degreasing middle steering shaft. Once that is out of the way I should be able to get in there and cut / drill the bolts off and get that heatshield out of the way. Steady movement towards the goa of the heads coming off.

On the positive side the second (more cooked) rocker shaft cleaned up fairly well as it was and stripped down much sweeter than the passenger one. So now have shiny rocker shafts, cleaned and neatened upper manifold and plenum chamber ready for when we can remantle. Plenty of new fixings will be used, along with plenty of copper grease. If I ever have to do this again it is going to be so much easier and quicker!

Several factors including .... well that helps a little. So something isn't getting through and it either thinks the engine is stone cold and open up the flap or boiling hot and close up?

I'd have a look on the GEMS but it is no longer with me.

It's very odd the target rpm happily goes over the rev limit, so that obviously only affects actual, not target :(
I can't imagine someone has reprogrammed the ECU, the fuel map would be totally wrong

It looks good there, doing a bit of work instead of just looking pretty on the drive etc.

Do you have some very slim wind deflectors fitted to your car?

I do aye auto clover things. I did have the team heko ones before but they made a window seal whistle.

Decided to do my oil change and ended up doing 2 engine flushes with some free oil a friend gave me and a 98p oil filter from eurocrapparts and finished off with proper oil and filter.

Note to self......next time remember to move the fooking oil pan once it stops p1ssing out sideways and starts to trickle then I won't need to spend 2 hours clearing up the oil slick :oops:

Oh and then off to the tip to get rid of 25 litres of used oil.
You`re lucky getting rid of 25 liters in Lincoln its 5.

Started looking for its replacement. No major rush but by the end of the year would be ideal,
At almost 50k put on the thing in my care and nearly touching 177k, and wanting somthing that can tow that bit nicer and not have too labour as much,
Its probably not worth selling its worth what 2k even after 6 refurbished injectors and 25k on the recon gearbox so il just stick it aside with everything else.

High miles and towing duties means more then likley a 3.6tdv8 over a petrol (unfortunately)
I have my list of must haves
Full sized obviously,
Black interior. (This is proving tricky most seem too be light coloured)
Body colour green blue black grey (no silver this time)
Oem exterior and interior,

There is only one thing really bugging me do all full sized tdv8s have them bloody hydraulic anti roll bars?

This has just made me realise that if not already, I must be getting close to being the person, on the forum, who has owned their L322 the longest. 11yrs and 3 months so far :)
