Hi,

just getting my rear door and other bits and pieces painted. Can anyone tell me the colour name or colour code of my D90? It is a 2000 year early TD5 originally sold in France if that helps.

Yes, I am aware it is blue!

Cheers

Mike

It is at my mate's workshop and he's repairing the bulkhead so currently in pieces. He dropped off the rear door at the painter so that it could be painted in the meantime along with other bits and pieces. It is a new half door as I want to do a soft top conversion in time for spring.

I am undecided whether to leave the bulkhead bare after being repaired and galvanised or whether to paint that too.

I am sure they will be able to colour match, but thought I'd try my luck whether anybody knows and save a couple of days. Not to worry either way...still plenty of time until spring :)

As for the bulkhead I painted mine.
It looks weird having a shiny piece between the doors/wings and the pice above the bonnet. Even after T Wash it stood out.

I think you are right, I am more inclined to get the bits that are visible from the outside painted. I think the vents are original, not a bad idea to use them as a colour sample. Good idea!

When I look at the various defenders on Instagram I want to get the whole thing resprayed, but I quite like the patina. I like the contrast when combined with newly painted wheels. I got a sand coloured hood and got a spare set of black wheels. I hope it will look good
