Hi all.

I have been on this forum for years but recently moved to Kenya. After 1 year with a Nissan Patrol I found a 1974 Range Rover headed for the grave. Have saved it and after rebuilding the 3.5 V8 it is brilliant. I just love it... but there is a problem. My 75 KM drive to work accross unsealed roads is a major drama in the wet season. The nissan patrol (Diesel)waded through 1 m deep water with no problem... no snorkel. Stretch is about 80m long! The range dies as soon as it sniffs water. The electrics get a quick splash from the fan and all hell breaks loose! Can't even wade through 2 feet of water without cut out, a push and WD40!!

Please can you off roaders out their tell me what to do to my classic so that I do not have to keep paying to be pushed through!! Rains about to come again and sick of wet feet. Don't make me regret selling the Nissan!!! I love my Range Rover. PS Will fit snorkel... home made of course but what else for my electrics!!

Help a fellow Landy owner in Africa!

fit an electric fan, fit it higher up and also fit an overide switch so it can be turned off for short periods.
im guessing if your wading through water that deep and it get thrown around by fan it must be touching the rad and thay will cool it somewhat....water cooled radiator!

Thanks. Will fit a fan. Thought that would be best. Have seen both blow and suck versions available. Any ideas which is best for a classic without A/C? Suggested brands. Kenlowe I know are good but are v expensive!

Any other ideas or improvements people can suggest. Just need it to keep moving through water up to the top of the wheels really, if not a bit further!!

blow on to your engine, driving along with the wind blowing on to it, and then the fan sucking it?? a little counter productive don't you think?
