The video was taken in the dark so there is nothing to see, I uploaded it so interested forum users could listen and offer their opinions and suggestions.
Vanos is variable valve timing fitted to the M62tub BMW petrol V8.
Opinions are that it is a lifter, just like your P38 but mine doesn't go off unfortunately.

having a quick search they don't seem bad, see how long they have been trading and if its recent you can do a director search on companies house.
your call i guess, clean up all the engine oil to confirm you don't have further leaks and turn up the radio

do they want your engine in exchange?
there is nothing difficult in what they are doing with the right kit and the parts are probably a grand, i have even thought of buying up a few timing chain guide fail engines and doing it myself depending on how well mine goes when i get around to it

Yes they take my engine in exchange which in reality is in good serviceable condition and doesn't need a rebuild except for the tap tap tap. I'll probably take the plunge, I'm a sucker and people can see me coming from miles away (I did buy the car, sort of proves it lol)

Does £1200 sound expensive to replace bank 1 lifters?

Change your rockers I did sound like a new engine

Think it was a genuine piece of advice wooly.
Plenty of **** taking on here too, but amongst it all is some really helpful advice, knowledge, experience & a lot of sharing of it.

I'm sure he was just offering his advice based on his experience. You did say your car also had noisy tappets and his suggestion to change the rockers seemed perfectly valid.
There's plenty of **** taking on forums of all makes and models, that's just the Internet for you.

Confused dot com.....

I made a mistake thinking BTD's comment was about the L322 M62 Engine....so I pointed out there were no Rockers on the M62....

BTD then pointed out that his post about the rockers was meant for someone else.....

Now this?

How did we get from there to here?
