It does allow a more fierce combustion due to more oxygen in the mixture, however any gas under pressure will cool when released to atmosphere, eg. CO2...?

I am led to believe that engine temps go up with NOS as per your

"It does allow a more fierce combustion due to more oxygen in the mixture"

not something to recomend on engines which are marginal!

My point was not to use the NOS as as performance enhancement but as a cooling enhancement when sprayed over the radiator or oil cooler, or you could use a water mist and rely on the laws of "Latent evaporation of heat".

Yes NOS injected to a combustion will increase engine temp significantly.

Updates -
Installed engine oil cooler last week and it looks like it really help moves the heat from the engine well at least from engine bay. not so much heat as you open the bonnet after a long drive. Still watching it but so far so good. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong as the temp is getting hotter down here.

Next project: installed trans oil cooler or installed a bypass switch to control the rad fan.

which one did yu fit?

I installed 12 row Engine Oil Cooler (4 5/8" X 11" X 1 1/2") and it sits just between the bumper bar and A/C rad.
I dont use the original engine oil cooler anymore as I think its too small and coolant already hot, useless. now it works as a heat sink for the coolant.

Have you been able to measure differences in temperature in, say, water, engine oil etc?

you mite have gathered by now - I am taking the easy way out - floggin' the Hippoo - so far cost me £6300 in a year:eek:

Hi again folks (Sorry Ming - still whingeing)

i have a V6 with suspected HG Failure (bubbling in expansion tank) have taken to local garage who tell me that local Landrover agent (Webbers) suggest they "dont touch it as they (Webbers) will always replace the engine" because "as soon as you remove the heads, the liners move and it is never right again". Having had a HGF two years ago,

What are your thoughts on this?
Do I replace the complete lump?
Replace the HG's and pray?
Replace the HG's and get shot to some other unfortunate?
Send the engine to an Engine Specialist and have it rebuilt?
Chuck it in the dustbin?
Try changing the lump to a TD4?

Any ideas or experts wanting to volunteer?
(even more gold pieces for you Clutchdust?)
Buy a box of swan vestas. It's much cheaper.....flyboy2

not sure its easier - and a lot more expensive. Bear in mind OAT aint cheap - so drain it all down (not sure how yu get it ALL out) and refill with £70 worth of NPG.

where are you gonna get two cooling pumps, all the fittings and get it done for £70? Although I agree an electric additional cooling pump which assists the normal one and runs after engine-offf till temp comes down to (say) 80C should kill the overheating probs ( and who knows - maybe HGF as well)

I know its not cheap but you may want to check this MHM
