So almost 12 months on both projects are completed.
Today finished V6 - Power steering works, brakes work, all new piping, all suspension either powder coated or re-painted, new or refurb brakes, rear subframe cleaned and powder coated etc etc. see above thread.
The result, lots of new knowledge, a TD4 which has now completed 12,000 miles on its replacement engine (which cost virtually nothing) when you take the rest of the sale of the parts from the donor into consideration. A V6 with 55k on the clock and mostly new or refurb which cost less than £500 including vehicle and parts. Just a few hours labour .
Enjoyed it all, which is the main part, the L Zone provided much interest, encouragement and expertise for which I am extremely grateful. I do seem to have a tub of nuts and bolts left over - but hey - not to worry!
PM me for any 3 door donor parts that you may need, still stuff lying around that will not be needed for my 5 doors !
