I think i've bought about 40 land rovers and 1 Range Rover in the last 5 years.

I can't remember ever asking for the mileage, apart from the Range Rover.

All of them went from the UK to Denmark.

The only one that broke down, en route, was the Range Rover (P38).

was that the one you came up here for ?

Yep..broke down in Essex...which is understandable, I would if i had to spend any time there.

Oh, and denmark, monaco and portugal...in fact its broken down in every country its ever been to, which is actually quite impressive.

Me too ^. Couldn't believe that you could try (and succeed??) to sell so much **** for so much money! Absolute cowboy! And then was offended when I was like, no chance I'm off!

Another one to avoid is "yanthelandyman" he's the biggest cowboy i've ever seen.

I got stung by him, due to lack of experience in buying. I know what i'll be doing next time i buy a 'fender.

I would tread very careful... from what I have read on here even if it aint a healthy defender you get from him, some have even been stolen... I also searched a few other forums on yan and it was seriously bad reading...

Yet somehow he seems to have quite a turnover of them! He has new ones on all the time. Probably gets a 'mate' to sort him another!

To be honest mileage is nothing. Ive seen 35k ('paper trail' was there to verify) on a 90 which was f*cked because its be sat in **** all day as a work horse with the cross member ripped out.

chassis and bulkhead they are the only things that will screw you up if wrong. engines can be found for a few £*00 as all the scrap disco's out there.

it all helps if the shocks, springs and tyres are all good as it saves cost down the line.

but the 'paper trail' is bull. how many people do there own servicing on landys? **** loads and just because they have a few receipts for some filters and oil doesn't mean they know which end of a spanner is which.

The best advice is to go a check each motor and judge on condition not 'paperwork'

landys are not show motors, they were made to be work horses so don't shy away from a few dents and scraps, all adds 'character'
