It's a wood gas production unit. You light a fire in the big cylinder, above the fire in a sealed compartment you put a heap of wood chips or sawdust, the heat and pressure releases gas from the wood chips which then passes through a wash to remove tar in the smaller cylinder and from there via the pipe over the roof to the engine via a modified single point LPG system. One local wood yard drives most of his machinery this way using old truck engine with the glow plugs replaced with spark plugs and the compression ratio lowered.

Bonnet painted to match the rear load area???
Love the way the bodywork and the trailer lines up so well, its almost as though it rolled out of the factory like this. The inch gap between the rear quarter and the load area must be for carrying really small things you need to keep dry and away from prying eyes
