They are very slow and struggle to pull out of junctions safety
My mate wants to put a TDi in as they have a lot more power and have better fuel economy and he struggles off road with the power aspect when climbing hills etc
That what we are trying to find out
But instead of people spending time to do it they put a TDi in which is the obvious thing
It surely takes less time to find a screw and turn it than change an engine??
... As I said earlier ...Post a picture of the top of the pump, and we can take it from there.
Quite simple to fully adjust and tune!
Tickover is adjusted by bottom bolt in attached picture in earlier post bit info here might be of use.

The yellow nut on the throttle lever are the adjustment of the run down when you shut the throttle.
You can't
Did this ever get anywhere, would be interested in modding mine a little. Also, maybe a silly question, but cant a bigger turbo be bolted on these engines?
You can bolt any turbo on you want ...spec suitable of course you just need to manufacture a conversion block. If you want to see how this sort of thing is done send me a message and I'll send you some pics of what I've done to my 300tdi and everyone said it was impossible 250 + bhp reliable 3000 miles no problems.
