Trying to Rebuild 1987 110 C S W

Rolled the front axle on tonight, thought Id made another big mistake, but after looking at other photos of rolling chassis maybe not.
The front diff faces UP Slightly on an angle, Is This Right, or have I made another balls up of it ?? :confused:

Springs fitted, Shocks next. Bit of hassle on my own, had to phone my son to come and help with rear bushes they were a Pain to get in but got there in the end.
Then on my own again got stuck with springs, but a Mate came and sorted the job for me. .
Got a Rolling Chassis Now :)

What is fitted to the top of the springs in photo #3? Is it the front shock turrets?

The shocks will be a pain. I had to use a ratchet strap to compress the springs enough to get all the shocks on. My advice for the fronts would be to leave off the shock mounts, and then fit the engine. That should compress the fronts enough to get the shocks on. The rears are easy enough to fit right at the end of the build, when there is enough weight to compress the rear end slightly.

Who’s bent the rear tub tab mount??? That might crack the galv straightening it, go steady.

Don’t let it get you down. I have gone from a rolling chassis, to tub, sills/side frames, bulkhead, tub sides, and roof fitted in 6 days of working on it. It was hard work, but worth every second. The engine ran today, for the first time since April! Super happy with that!

I fitted mine at the same stage you are now, but doing it again, I would wait. Fronts after engine install, rears after the roof is on. There should be enough weight then to compress the springs enough to get the shocks on.

What is the bit upfront that they bent?

id fit the shocks later as already said and leave bush nuts just nipped up not fully tight
 
Not sure what its called will try and get a pic somewhere, its just a small bit, though.
You've done well with yours when are you expecting driving out with it.
Ive only got Sundays to work on mine, sometimes do a little on night through the week. Roll on the warm summer nights.
 
Here's the other bit that's bent its the one arrowed passenger side, just a small bracket, not sure what its for yet but will find out when I get that far.

Just reminded me I got loads of various brand new bits and pieces in boxes when I first bought it. there is 3 Goodride flexi hoses, Should there be 4 ? as I've always thought one must have got lost. But when I've looked to buy another they are advertised in sets of 3.

3 brake flexis, theres only 1 at the rear
