I fitted the repair kit in my old disco 1 with its curly dash. It’s an awkward job but works well. You’ll find some new swear words when you do so!
Call me daft but I don’t understand how it stops it curling. Do the screws go through the foam and into harder material underneath?
I ordered it in grey and it’s pretty close to the new grey which is a winner!!

Nothing too heavy to sort on nearside rear. Nice outcome. Top of d pillar thankfully clean - it’s one of the worst jobs to do that corner.

Got a patch to cut out, new arch to go in and remove and reinstall belt reinforcement plate so that I can re-skin under it. Also got to redo boot floor to quarter join but again, not a bad job to do

Rich had patched up the rear boot floor, which was fine for few years but 30 year old spot weld seams only last so long.
I’ve decided that it will get totally new floor to go with a new rear crossmember. Even managed to snap my spot weld bit so still some left to do!! Rich’s spot welds were a tad tougher than the originals 😂

After a small clean and hoover.

Chassis looks good 😊😊😊

One small patch on the trapezium but that loooks like it so far 👌

I haven’t taken side out yet as need to remove other rear quarter and take some measurements for the braces for the new floor

Fuel tank hanger looks decent and solid (thank fcuk), spring hangers seem good. Obviously haven’t take shocks off to see if anything needs doing behind the mounts but it seems promising. Tip - if you do ever replace your shocks, take the mounts off and slap a **** load of grease on before you bolt back on

Well this is the damage that I caused and has tipped the decision for the vehicles heart.
As per my other thread I’ve been umming and arring on to v8 or not but I’ve just bought a v8 ES auto loom.
Need to pop Dave an email to confirm but my zf will be getting sent for rebuild and the v8 bellhousing added.
I don’t understand the wiring required for auto but should all be there. Also going to be going megasquirt so thought easier to re-loom the lot then wire into the ecu signals and feeds I’ll need.
Turners are going to machine the block when I’ve got donor and think Frida said it was 5 year guaranteed on their work.

Also going to be going megasquirt
Thats alot of beer tokens 🤔. Needs more changes to the V8 as it runs trigger wheel? (did look at it but not for me)
Rebuilt V8 with tophats I can totally go with. But that can be run with standard stuff available.
What V8?
HP22 with 24 internals?
Which bellhousing and TC?
Oh and your engine mounts are in the wrong place;)

How did you manage that tangle?

Welding on new mounts to chassis - yrm do them I think?! It will be v8 bellhousing with upgraded TC. I could initially run Hotwire but it just seems to make sense to megasquirt from beginning? The megasquirt isn’t a drop compared to turners cost.
