i am looking to buy a landy 90. i have got around £2500 to spend. i have had a quick look around and you seem to get better deals on truck cabs. is that because they are less practicle and people who want them for a work purpose dont want them. if so could owners of truck cabs let me know if they wish they had spent a little more and got a normal landy.
if it helps i will be mainly using it for offroad purpose.

i bought a truck cab and fitted a tilt.
problem is I didn't like leaving stuff in the back while it was parked up (security).
so i bought some van sides and a roof off flea bay and converted it to a van.

i'd say if the vehicle and the price is right, then buy it. if you don't get on, you can always convert it later - that's the good thing about landys.

My last defender was a truck cab, for off roading the thing was great in the visablity aspect giving an all round view. I did wish i got hold of a ivor whilliams back though. (1) for security. (2) where ever id park it, in town, the collage car park or work the landy would be used as a rubbish bin, there would be crap in the back all the time drove me mad.

There spot on for long or oddball shaped loads, a van is quite small. I've only had top leave something valuable in the back once in three years and rarely park it in town, an when I do it's near a CCTV camera or works security hut. I'd definitely go fer it, you can put on whatever you want if you don't like it. I'm hoping to have found a cheap tilt for next summer, and go totally topless.

sweet. i've been keeping an eye out for a couple of days for the right deal.with around £2500 to spend would the 200tdi engine be the best option?
