A landy built by Trojan 4x4 at Brightwells auction. It failed to meet the reserve. Looks very nice to me.hi my names richard and am the md of trojan 4x4 ltd, thats my house you drove by to get to the cumberland show with the banner and the landies parked up,we do buy, repair and sell landies and parts , we do recovery and hire trailers, chipping and remapping
i have owned and repaired landies for 20 yrs and been in business for 5 with my partner colin my wife amanda is the company secertary ( it started as a hobby but got out of hand), we have auologic diagnostic equipment and have a three bay workshop to cater for all the landrover range further down the village, we sell bearmach parts and accessories, and s/hand bits to we are agents fot td performance chips and remaps.
im working on getting the website up and running so that we can get pics up of some of the tasty landies weve built, we dont do a lot of advertising as we havnt needed to as word of mouth and a satisfied customer is the best ad ,
we do a lot of spares and repairs for the lads n lasses who are in NORTH LAKES 4X4 CLUB most of them were at Ae forest last weekend bustin stuff
im currently building a td5130 singlecab tipper on a galv chassis at the mo, but have built and preped landies to go as far as uganda and newzealand
hope this is of help and if you need any moe info you can pm me
regards richard
Thanks for that. This thread is 16 years old and the business owner was last seen here in Jan 2009, so there is a good chance that they are no-more.
It costs a lot of time (and money) to build a special like that.
Even @ £50 an hour there is probably £10k's worth (200 hours) + the intial cost of the truck + the parts etc. These projects never really make the money they cost to build unless you have built it yourself and the labour isn't a factor.
Even then it can often result in a loss at sale time.
Looks like it was 'rebuilt' in 2017 as according to it's MOT history it did -75356 miles (yes minus) when it was MOT'd in 2018 after a 4 year break.
Since june 2022 it's only done 1500 miles and no MOT in 2023
"Thousands of pounds of parts from Paddocks" -- so mainly Britpart then
It was a good spray job as it still looks sharp.
New door (bottoms), recently at a guess, as they are a different colour.
New heater plug relay and wires.
The seats looks new too.
Looks like it's been fitted with wheel spacers and bling wheels.
The front disks look shagged
There also looks to be a fair amount of 'bubbling' around key parts like the A pillar and bulkhead, perhaps it wasn't a galvy bulkhead fitted when they did the chassis.
Have to aggree that it's worth more than the £6700 it was bid at.
£10K ish but I bet the reserve was more like an unrealistic £19000.
