right i think i'm pretty much sorted for the recce, although the disco is pretty unprepaired as i've had to put all the spare cash on a new place to live!
although i should have a snorkel and the electrics sorted by then that'll be about it, anyone got spare recovery gear if i get myself stuck
yes always carry enough gear to get you out

Well the 90 is ready spent a bit of time giving it once over cheaking oil levels etc and made SURE my snorkle is air tight

Hi all,
Just braught a disco Mk1 im spending alot of money doing it up (My Self) and im wondering when the next trip is and where it will be/starting from.
realy want to get my little beast out there and get technical
and more to the point do u accept disco's on your outings
Can any 1 help me?

Where are you? Lots of organised smaller/longer trips always being arranged around the country, have a peruse of the forum, lots of info to be found.

Bugger ...
Putting wading plugs in ready for the weekend, and front one at the bottom ff the timing case and base/front of sump is wet and oily and dripping! I'd guess this is the front crank seal?
No worries, I'll still be there, this could have been leaking for a few months now 'cos the wading plugs haven't been in and out since October/November and it wasn't leaking then. I've been waiting to do the timing belt anyway ... so kill two with one stone now, when I get time!

Now my laptop won't work!OK on battery, won't work on power supply or charge the battery. ****ed off .. having to nick the wifes old laptop and put memory Map on that .. hopefully it'll work OK. Dunno about the webcam either, or bluetooth etc .. it's a very old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200, great little laptop but a bit old now, only has 1 USB port fercrissakes!!
Was hoping to be fully packed and ready for an easy day tomorrow, ah well.

No, power supply and in-car power supply all work ... the laptop works, but not on any adaptor .. I reckon there's a fuse or something like a fusible link on the Laptop (Samsung R40) but it'd take too much time to take it apart ...
When it went, it took the car adaptor fuse and the car cig lighter fuse! When I unplugged the adaptor the laptop worked on battery, as soon as I plugged in in the house it still worked on battery, but no power light (it was on on the AC adaptor) and no battery charging ....
Found what caused it .. the incar adaptor end was loose, I'd tightened it up and I reckon I twisted the male terminal onto the female, thus shorting things out. My fault, dammit!!!
Tosh is working with MM, just getting GPS and bluetooth to work together now ..
