Lovely mate, ahhh nice new clean parts, excellent.

Much better to be on 300 IMO aswell, more current and more of it about these days!

Doing well brother :)

Cheers mate :) a shot blaster is one of the best bits of kit we own, really useful for cleaning stuff up :)

In not too worried about parts we have 4 200 rear crank deals in anyway but it's nice just having 1 range of parts on an engine so remembering what goes where is easier :) I can tap out a few more holes on the casing if I wish for more bolts attaching to the bell housing :)

Are you using lt77 or R380??

If using lt77 you will have to remove a few studs to line up. And engine will sit right on bulkhead too, which means making up pipe work.

Using the lt 77, doing the engine fit tomorrow hopefully, studs arn't a problem to remove, im trying to get as many to fit as possible anyway  and I'm using the lt77 for the exact fact it's far back for weight distribution and I can have my winch further back, I'm rear rading at some point anyway so making pipes up doesn't bother me, I'm also rear snorkelling so I expect plenty of pipe work, this is far from a standard build

Big day today :p

Happy Days :D :D :p:p

Got some more done tonight, seeing as my bulkhead is quite heavy and I've got some welding to do I decided to lighten the load a little bit ..

Haha down to the bones now :p was a fairly easy job I've just got to remember where everything goes

The loom is pretty good to be honest but I'm going to wire in extra lives/ wires for lights ect whilst ie got it all apart to make it nice and neat :)

Dads giving me a hand tomorrow so hopefully the bulkhead will be finished, I'm in 2 minds whether to send it off for shot blasting or just rub it down to respray, ill get a price and then see :)

What colour do you think it's going to be ? ;)

Tonight's update :)
Fitted the drivers side engine mount, this uses existing bolts ad so no need for welding to the chassis 12 mm steel so plenty sting enough ;)

Just got to finish off around the driers vent and she's done :)

Great build mate was about to ask your plans for the engine mount and as if by magic it appears, very similar to the one i made for mine but mine encloses the filter all together. keep up the good work :)
Sam

Bulkhead is now done apart from holes for the windscreen bolts buys that's fairly easy, ill send it off for shot blasting this week :)

Had a very inspiring day at the show today examining closely some of the challenge trucks for ideas and methods for rear rads ect :) sourced a mandrel bender and trying to get dad to buy a tig welder for the workshop so I can start some special projects ;)

Just have to decide what I'm doing winch wise now whether to for the full pro double motor housing or adventure housing and how many motors I'm starting with I can get a adventure housing kit with twin bow mirrors and all te kit for less than a grand or the same without the motors but with extended free spool drum for te same price,

Hmmm options :)

The show today had some epic machines there! Good god it seems that tube chassis is the new thing and people are doing crazy **** with it!!

I would go large drum with x-eng free spool for starters, easy to change too housing to twin motor at a later date but large drum with 200ft line is awesome no matter how many motors you've got and the drum free spool is so much better than stock free spool!

I know ! I'm really interested in a 3 link set up for the suspention too I can get one off tornado but if probably build myself at some point, mines not as one way biased as some of the trucks there I still want it to be road legal :)

Yeah air free spool is high on my list I can make a wider drum if needs be tjeyre not that hard to make and just get a free spool set up :)

Dont buy a bolt on 3 link they are terrible.
Next month Im removing a qt 3 link kit and doing it properly ,I'll do a little fred on it
Only thing is it will be lower 3rd as its a v8, but as yours is a tdi upper(and best) 3rd link can be done

No I won't haha far too much money, I'd much rather build one myself and know it in and out than just bolt something on, plus it's cheaper :p

I look forward to the thread for inspiration :)

Quickie update, managed to do a few little jobs tonight whilst the bulkhead is away being shotblasted :)
Firstly fitted the disco power steering reservoir and pipes as they for better and have the right ends, took a little bending on the pressure side of the pump but apart from tht it was pretty easy :)
22389FC7-8F46-473D-AF0F-35B3CDB06D20-981-0000010B9D67341B.jpg

Fitted the new starter as a customer needed one sharp ish so mine got robbed  but I get a new one so can't complain :)
752ECDDF-8FF5-4900-9C1D-F9392A969252-981-0000010B7CE2B637.jpg

Took the down pipe off of the disco and with a few bends extra made it for around the engine, not the most attractive part in te world but it'll do the job lovely ;)

And we've been working out where te pipe work is going to go for te rear rad, drivers side of the transfer box seems the best way as its pretty much a straight run :)

So pipe work being ordered tomorrow to get piping everything up :)

Progress !! :D

Very nice build fella.. had to lol at the chassis spray. Its mad how you go from... I'm struggling to keep up so ill get some tyres... to, lets rebuild it!!

Thanks you've just answered most of th questions I had. I'm doing a 200tdi LT77 to 300tdi LT77 swop at the weekend & the questions I had were, 1) engine mount 2) Exhaust. The only thing different is I'm going to use the 200 bellhousing as it's already got the bolt holes at the bottom drilled out.
Thanks very much.:D
