oh well mate it all comes to an end lol, I nearly bought and 8 series cruiser recently and still might . will probably keep my 2 door though even if I do - a lot of blood and sweat in it if you know what I mean

Just want to add my voice to those saying that you would be sorely missed if you stopped dropping in.
 
Not sure if i should be grateful to Irish or not, it was largely his input to this forum that convinced me I could cope with the vageries of a P38 which was the only decent 4 x 4 I could afford. I am not a Land Rover enthusiast, the old series were/are rough and ready vehicles suitable for use on the farm but not for driving across France IMO, the classics are mostly petrol and rusty, I wanted a diesel so a P38 it had to be.
So thanks John for your contributions, you saved me a lot of time and effort on the learning curve.

Just wanted to echo all the other comments John, thank you so much for all the help both on & off the forum. Hope you plan on staying around to help us mere mortals buddy :)

The diagnostics and test rig have been sold, although I may still have them for a short while before they are collected.
The P38 is sitting in the garage all polished up and I have my Arthur Daly outfit on the hanger ready to do a deal !!!:hysterically_laughi
The Ball joint removal tooling has also been sold.
Hopefully the new owners of the relevant kit will continue to carry on where I leave off in providing help to fellow members.

One thing is for sure though....I ain't disappearing into the sunset as far as the forum is concerned. I shall continue to be my usual grumpy old self !!!!
 
Sad to read this on here this morning :( I've not logged in here for a couple of weeks due to other things on my mind which you may or may not remember John from when you were kind enough to spend time helping me with my non starting rebuilt engine.
Like all the rest on here I hope you do stay around as nearly always when searching for answers to problems on here it is your posts that come up with the answers!!
Wish you all the best and hope you don't regret selling up!!

I have to echo all comments on here especially Datatek's who i have to second, if i am in trouble with electrical stuff certaintly your advice was most helpful

need to get on with my P38 projects now that my defender is fairly sorted for use.
Hope you will still be around so that your hard won knowledge and experience will benefit those members and P38 owners on the forum
Good luck with the future and hope you don't regret selling your old friend the P38
