I'm impressed!
Got caught out on an icey road on Friday and hit the armco at about 60kph and pirouetted off the road. In a fiesta I would probably have been hurt and the car a write-off, but this beastie brushed it off with a thrashed bumper cover and fog lamp. It's a bloody tank!

So, I need a replacement front bumper, rear one too, actually. Anyone out there parting one out, willing to ship to Norway?

Cheers, and knock on wood - I'm alive.

Try Famous Four www.famousfour.co.uk They shipped an OEM rear bumper to me in France after my little off last year, bumper £195: bumpers seals £12.10; Carriage £55; all plus VAT total came to £307.97.:D
No airbags fired? Side airbag fired in mine at 15 mph, blew the seat squab to bits and offered no protection whatsoever:eek:

Henrik,

I'm picking up a donor p38 this weekend, and since I don't need the bumpers myself... If you feel like it you can have the parts picked up in Strömstad

I basically only need the interior, foglights and transfer box & both diffs, everything else incl nudge bar will be for sale.

I'll pm you with pics once I've finalized the deal

Hi
I found a very decent man on e-bay, willing to ship the bumpers off his donor all the way to Norway. Works out a lot cheaper than new, but I'm sure Strømstad would be even cheaper. Anyway, front bumper and washer bottle are on their way.

No airbags fired. I thought it very strange afterwards, as there was quite some speed involved. The engine cut out, but that was it. It fired right up again when I turned the key. My only explanation is that it must have felt like a bigger hit than it really was.

Cheers

Could be - vehicles like Defender's, etc are very solid, so don't absorb the impact, just transmit it through the vehicle and into the occupants.

More modern cars have crumple zones, etc, so dissipate the shock around the occupants - it means they crumple very easily, which is rubbish in a low speed impact as the repair costs escalate! Having said that, in a higher speed collision, I guess the crumple zones would be a welcome addition... :)
